Well it depends on what the market is doing. If you look at competitors, you see similar trends in price difference between the S4 and S5, and the C43 sedan vs. coupe. So this price premium ($1,800 premium on the bare bones m440i xdrive vs. m340i xdrive) is perfectly in line, and in fact more conservative, than both Audi and Mercedes.

Here's my configuration

Shame that Mineral Gray isn't an option for the 4; Dravit Grey looks great on this car but it's too high of a price considering it's an Individual paint option.

Also this is just my two cents, but I think the grille is more tolerable when paired with a gray paint scheme.

Then again, I'd pick an F32 over this any day, mainly because I can actually afford an F32.

What's all the surprise about the $70k MSRP on the loaded M440? Sure its a lotta money, but did you actually check competition prices? BMW is priced well within range.

S5 - loaded clocked at $69,590
C43 - a lotta options but not all all of them clocked at $76,140
C63 - base, zero options added starts at $69,900

When it comes to BMW RRP means nothing anyway, M340i + tech pack usually goes for around $53K over here.

I agree with all, cars are just crazy expensive new (all of them). Pickups are now topping 100k (TRX). I'm glad most of y'all have amazing jobs because I don't know how to budget for these things. I have a decent job and single... but m340, 440, s5, c43 etc are all pushing 70k... blows my mind

$70k is for a loaded m440i
Right, what I meant is that this isn't anything special. It's a basic 3/4 series. I cant imagine paying that much for such a basic car. I suppose it reminds me of a e class coupe, like, who is the target audience at this crazy price point?

Well, when you put a wall (call it a grill) up front, it adds drag

Is not the color, is che Concept; That car was beautiful, the production car is awful.

FFS can we keep this thread to talking about the configurator options and stop polluting it with more of the same "ugly grill, no thanks not gonna buy" BS? We get it, we know, you're not gonna buy one - take it to another of the 50 threads about how ugly the car is. God damn.

Sorry for the rant but it's EVERY. SINGLE. THREAD. Anything that mentions the G22 just gets flooded with at least 1/2 the posts just being about how ugly it is or how much it sucks.

I have the ventilated seats in my M5, and they are essentially worthless. Can't tell they are working but for the sound of the fans blowing. 😞

The USA configurator is must easier to use than the ones in Europe. How’s that?

I came here for the roasting on the grill and everyone's comments did not disappointed!! The only way to buy this car is a lease, because the used market is going to be unforgiving to this car. The grill is that bad.

The default M Performance trim on M440i gets you Cerium Gray mirrors, kidney grilles, etc. and the Extended Shadowline option turns all of that to gloss black.
