Give me the M2🙏🏾

Give this person the corner office, 1000 shares of google stock, and one month paid vacation.

How often has anyone raced someone at a stoplight to 120+?

If you're actually going to race the car you're going to go to a track.

Then the M2 blows the 3 Series out the frame with little effort.

I say take the money spent on the motor and make a real luxury 3 Series like the Lexsus ES 350

How is that stupid, do you live in a world of circles?

Do "your" tracks not start on a straightaway, or even have any?
It's not about Drag race. Drag race is fun and there are hell lot of different kind of races around the world.
My point is that an M car is made with weight ratio....chassis stiffness And Bunch of other parameters to make it a good sports cars.
When these magazines and so called YouTube reviewers declare results based on only drag race only, that's what I call stupid.
You want to review a car only on drag race then do it on the Demon...that's what that car is made for.

There was a video on YouTube showing 440i xdrive on a canyon road course absolutely hauling ass around the corners would give an M2 a run for its money x drive traction is hard to beat. I posted it on the forum but can't seem to find it.
It's the driver skills and experience.
That said....I've taken down 340xi on track very easily in my Z4M and 340i is faster. We are talking about M2...which is way ahead of Z4M as well.

I think on the street, and as a non-pro driver, none of these comparisons matter much. Really what is important to me is how the car feels when driven - acceleration, sound, handling, etc. Also, does the car feel "special". That latter piece I believe is what has kept me most interested in my F80 almost 3 years in. It's not like we are talking 80 Hp econoboxes. Acceleration alone - an A4 or Accord V6 is more that can be needed on the street. So this "I can beat you by a car length in an imaginary race that I'll never have" should rank really low in comparing cars.

95% if not more people buy m cars and never visit a track so racing stop light to stop light is really all they have. Bmw would drastically reduce the m car product offerings or make them even more expensive if the only people buying them were people taking them to the track. This video was just meant to show the 340i is close in acceleration to the M2. You either want a manual for the connection and driving experience or you don't because auto gear boxes passed manuals for speed over a decade ago. Not to mention AWD compared to RWD is night and day.

My next car is definitely going to have xDrive because of this. Street surfaces are hit or miss in my city so having as much traction as possible to use all that power is my on my checklist.

AUDI is bringing their wagons to the US so maybe we'll get lucky
Any links about that? I'd love to see what they're bringing over.
Rumors still.

However when we bought our Q5 a few months ago, our sales guy said that they were expecting at least one of the RS4 or RS6 Avants. Realizing that sales guy are perhaps not the most reliable source.

Precisely, and those who think otherwise are missing the whole point of having a fun car. Who cares who gets to the next red light faster

Exactly, they have the better car, just because a newer 3 series may be able to beat it in a streetlight race, they have to trash talk someone else's family conveyance

12.6 sec 1/4 mile is impressive? News to me. I feel like, every 335 / 340 has run that for the past 10 years or so

I will have to admit anything over 10 seconds seems slow. In the 90s tuners we're running 8 second quarter miles with civics so the industry should have caught up by now.

How close will the new M340 be to the current M3? I would guess less then 0.5 seconds in 1/4 mile and for about 15k less!

unfortunately theyll be too fucking ugly to make the Fs look bad. the interior is an improvement (not hard, my mazda 3 had a nicer interior than my F80 does) but the exterior looks like trash from almost every angle.

ya but you have to deal with driving a car that looks like that.... between the generic tail, end, and the giant protruding cocks in the, headlights, this car is a huge butterface
