Best depends on the budget, the 5.0 are one of the better street pads which allow more stopping power and minimum if any noise

HAWK does offer better lines than 5.0 but they're not noisy. They are a better option for track use only.

Unfortunately, the aftermarket game for these cars as it relates to rotors is extremely limited. I've been looking for a set of drilled/slotted rotors but with negative results. I'm going to resurface me stock rotors for my first brake replacement , hopefully by the second brake replacement there will be more aftermarket options.
I know this is a bit late, but, the time has come for me to replace my rotors as well, and the Genuine BMW rears for the Msport package are all backordered but the m performance which happen to be drilled (although from the pic they look dimpled) and slotted are the same size (345x24)since the only difference between the sport and performance break options are the front rotors and calipers!

I dont mind having regular rotors in the front and drilled/slotted in the back. May not be for everyone!

Just ordered from ECS today!

Upon installation, come to find out the caliper pin holes don稚 line up???

Now I知
Not sure if I re order and try the same set (maybe I was sent the wrong ones) or try something else. I知 after low dust.

Thanks,

same here. i just ordered Powerstop Z26 for my 2022 M440i base and the pins for the front don't line up so i put them back but in the process chipped away at my stock pads and the brake pedal goes all the way down so i am freaking out and trying to order something for delivery ASAP.

does anyone have any experience with why these pin holes would not align?

Thanks for chiming in! I confirmed with bmw that nothing changed for 2023 regarding front pads, but apparently the aftermarket options just don稚 fit. TireRack was really caught off guard. Their hardware department has a scheduled call with me tomorrow to try and determine how their pads for this car show up as compatible when in fact that痴 not the case. Stay tuned!

i believe my caliper holes were drilled based on the seemingly rare brake pad that i have that i seemingly cannot find ANYWHERE. it's brembo branded but based on the p/n i got from BMW, i found it here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...s/34108844368/. def not the ones that i find easily for what should be 'normal' m340i/m440i brake pads

TireRack determined they made a mistake and my car is not compatible with their brakes. Based on what I致e seen, the caliper hole on the oem pads is not a hole but rather a half circle. The hawk pads had a full circle (hole). I guess we might be stuck with oem pads.

https://www.counterspacegarage.com/csg-spec-brake-pads skus CSG.A90F.20.CP and CSG.A90R.17.CP will fit the standard m340i setup (348/345). Performed super well at the track but when the brakes are cold it will make noise.

Did you install the rear rotors yet? If so, any feedback? Are they drilled/slotted or dimpled? Thanks!

The rotors are drilled and slotted. They are exact fit/match and i have no complaints!

Edit: Because they are drilled and slotted you will hear the air passing through them when you apply the breaks near the median, sidewall on any highway and really any wall for that matter. But, its cool because it kind of gives you the sense that they're doing the job !

Im going to assume you mean the glendale queens area. If thats the case, i got all four rotors and pads done at MSpec performance in middle village. One of the few places that will still work on your car if you've already purchased what you need replacing .

anyone find a pad option for low dust? I was about to order Hawk Performance Ceramics but don't want to run into fitment issues too.

Ordered some Project Mu Type PS from Japan. I don't know if these are available for US market yet.

I ran these before on my F30, they're great street pads and work well when you're pounding them on mountain roads.

0-500c heat range so it will be fine in aggressive driving. High torque for instant response, low dust and noise compared to OEM. Not suggested for track with R compound/semi slicks but I'm not planning to track this car.

It is the same pad as the weirdly named Project Mu "Euro Sports Excellence".

Can anyone tell me, are the stock/BMW pads on the G20 M340i the very good "Brembo Low-Met" pads? Aren't these incredibly good pads for fast street driving already? Yes they throw a lot of dust, but if you don't care about dust aren't these in the same heat/friction categories as these Hawk 5.0 or EBC Yellows?
Brembo are so good when it comes to pads I am having a hard time seeing the benefit in the other pads.

Got Hawk Performance Ceramic pads installed and wanted to share my review.

The car: 2020 M340i, standard blue brakes. 37k miles
Some context: New fluid, new rotors, stainless lines done at the same time as the pads

Now for the review: Overall positive but there is more pedal effort during slow speeds. Initial bite is less but once you press more than 5% it feels just as good if not better than stock. I have yet to give it more than 50% but on my next autox I'll update what 100% feels like. As for dust, stock pads I would have a good layer of dust in 1 week. With the ceramic pads I have nearly no dust 2 weeks later. Thank god because my wheels are fully polished
