Aftermarket Sway Bars
I know there are a few aftermarket choices as it relates to aftermarket sway bars (H&R & Dinan). Has anyone actually installed a set of aftermarket sway bars? And if so we're you impressed with the upgrade?

It'll be some time before I get them but I plan on buying the H&R ones to go with my H&R springs. The car could definitely benefit from them. I've done a lot of suspension work on my G37 including Eibach sway bars and they made a big difference, very little body roll.
Read this recently about the Dinan sway bars: "Development is done but sway manufacturers themselves are still backed up well into 2022." https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1722718&page=8 Subscribed to see if anyone has any experience yet.

Should ask about install time if you're making calls. Think its a more involved process to install the swaybars (or its normal and the Subaru's I worked on in the past were less complicated and I'm uneducated hah)

Bottom line - if you have a RWD there are currently no available options. If you have an Xdrive roll with H&R. Hopefully this will help a few folks who are interested in aftermarket sway bars. |

I spend way more time than I like to admit trolling forums looking for information only to come up short or empty handed most of the time. Threads like these are easy to locate and can save folks hours, if not days worth of time!
Let me know how those H&R sways work! |

I'm still contemplating whether I'm going to do it or take it to a shop. Just depends on what shops around here quote me.
I did all the suspension on my G37 myself (coilovers, sway bars, sway bar end links, front upper control arms, rear camber links, toe bolt). Completely different car but I'm confident I could knock springs and sway bars out myself. I've also thought about having my suspension checked out beforehand. My struts squeak over every bump, very annoying. You can hear them compress/decompress. Is that normal? My car does have 85k miles on it (2nd owner), maybe they are worn out?

I've looking to upgrade my rear bar. My OEM measured 17.2 mm
According to H&R they offer a 19mm at $430 Eibach in europe says theirs is 18mm I would expect someone to offer something more substantial that's greater than 2mm over stock. |

H&R sway bars
Last Thursday I had a pair of H&R Sway bars installed by the dealer.
I own a G21 xDrive with non adaptive M sport chassis, sport diff, 18 " wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 run flat tires Its worth it, less body roll, more stabil at the straight line, better road contact. Not uncomfortable, hopping on the road or scraping the road as with lowered cars, so I think a better solution as lowering for streetcars. Lowering is for cars used on well paved circuits. Thats also what Don Alexander, Fred Puhn or Wolfgang Weber wrote in their books about better handling for streetcars. I had the same positive experience with the H&R sway bars installed on my F31. Just installing the rear bar isn't allowed byH&R and wil lead to massiv oversteer and unpredictable driving behaviour.

Just installed H&R front and rear bars.
As of now I can only say positives except for the rear bushings that my tech said did not fit and he used the oem ones after trimming them a bit. I also had the car aligned with these specs using camber plates. Front Camber: -2.75 Front Toe: 0 Rear Camber: -1.5 Rear Total Toe: 0.30 I feel absolutely no loss of comfort and body motions from side to side seem greatly reduced and gives a feeling of stability when cornering. Car feels great and is way easier to drive than my M2 was, even if I was running similar alignment specs, I think the new G series geo and the longer wheelbase help a lot ! I have a track day coming this Friday and will be able to evaluate in a controlled environment going balls out.

That's great to hear! I knew sway bars would be a big help on this car. I plan on ordering these soon and installing at the same time with my H&R springs.
That's interesting about the rear bushings though. Did you try to reach out to H&R and ask them about it?

Not yet and since I did not do the install and was not there it's harder for me to give much details on this situation. I try to do these kind of installs myself but it required an engine craddle to drop the front subframe and I did not have the required equipment. I think it took around 4 hours of work to do front and rear.
