My car is also passive msport suspension. The ride is very stiff and I feel almost every bump on the road. Will the ohlins help smooth out the road and keep the ride some what leveled over uneven bumps? How would you compare the new ride to base m340 suspension or base 330 suspension?

Just installed mine, was using stock adaptive suspension, changed to ohlins with both front and rear 10 clicks. It is definitely better than stock suspension and it absorbed more impact.

After reading these comments I'll be looking for a deal on ohlins over the winter. My H&R springs with dinan kit bottom out too harshly over medium to big bumps. Not refined at all.

Yeah, lowering springs are only so good - coilovers are where its at!

Chubbiejones do you plan on tracking your car at all? I'm trying to find some comparisons between this and the other options out there, but the reviews seem to biased towards street driving.

Personally, I have no desire to track my car. There are only a handful of forum members who track their M340i. Head on over to the G80 M3 forum if you want to chat with boys/girls who track their cars. Unfortunately, you will be hard pressed to find a ton of information regarding a M340i on the track.

Chrispy has had ohlins installed for quite some time and tracked I believe 30+ days this year. I think the ohlins are the best bang for your buck and track capable. The next step up would be a custom coilover kit from the majors ie. Ohlins, JRZ, Bilstein, etc.

I tracked 15 days this year on dinan springs, so there are a few limited amount of us who track and have different setups.

As far as KW V3 vs Ohlins R/T, I would go with Ohlins quality and ease of adjustability / comfort level on street + track capable.

Yes, seems like the Ohlins are the better track option than the V3, or any other ready-to-go set. There's the Bilstein Evo R as well, but they're nearly $5,000 and I've only seen Turner selling them with no reviews.

I would need to verify the Ohlins recommended settings as I’m not 100% sure
