I'm sure you've figured something out by now because I know you posted this a couple days ago - but I imagine given e30 is a pretty close equivalent to 93 (which the engine likes) it shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah they told me to pump it out. i pumped half out and then just filled the rest back up with 91. Hopefully can get back over to Alex to get my DME bench unlocked again. Such a pain but very interesting to drive the car stock again. makes me miss my tune that much more!

Glad you figured something out....

I get your comment regarding stock 100% I drop back to 91 and stock every once in a while just to remind myself how much the MP tune has changed the car.

Need help on this topic, please.
My G21 from January this year (looks like a manufacturer in last September 2019) have an SW version installed 07/2019.53, I purchased from an Oficial BMW dealer as a “service car” last 29 August 2020.
I have tried searching on the vehicle for updates but always say “Currently no upgrade available for your vehicle”.
My BMW Connected App says “version 11/2019.70 is transferred for the vehicle” but the installation date available was on 13 August 2020, so I receive the Car after that, and I have no MSG to do the installation.
Now looks like is stuck and don’t search for new updates (and at least 3 new versions were release).


Any idea how I can “clean” this info about the 11/2019.70 is transferred to the car?

I have press the power button for the 30s for a “Hard Reset” on the iDrive, have created other account on BMW Connected App, and says the same…

it does state that the update is available until August 13th, so maybe it's no longer _available_, whatever that means?

my 07/2020.54 update shows "Available until January 10th".

yes so looks like is stuck on that update, and why don't show the next version to install for example 07/2020.XX if the other is out-of-date
wanted Android auto so much ...
I can't even get rid of this expired update. it should be automatic and look for a new one.

just leave it and wait for 07/2020 version. There won't be anything different to update to what it said on your phone

I'm still stuck at 07/2019.55 my car was imported but I guess that doesn't make a difference. I have talked to my closest dealer and they told me I would need to pay around 70€ for the update if I went to the dealership.
It is suposed to receive the update until the end of the year.
Lets hope so because I don't want to pay 70€ for a freaking free update.

No, I'm on 07/2020.60 as of last month. I even tried fudging the URL on BMW USA to see if there were release notes for 11/2020--nope. I then searched in German and g20-forum.de: also nothing. Seems like they are only up to 07/2020.60 as well (and have basically the same experience (read: issues) as we do).

BMW makes a big deal about remote software "upgrades" but I'd prefer if they just made it happen more smoothly... Other brands do it without as much occasion.

If you uploaded the software but it doesn't install it is caused by low battery.
I downloaded the 07/2020.54 to my phone and then successfully uploaded it to my M340i but didnt install install. After s couple of days I bought a CTEC SMX 10 battery charger and after 3 hours my battery was fully loaded and suddenly the installstion started.
So you need a fully loaded battery to upgrade the idrive software.

So, I called BMW Connected Drive to ask why my 330e was not updating OTA. They told me to go into apps and update all apps by pressing 'Option' - then wait 24 hours.

I did this, and no change - no update available. (ie on back on 07.2019). I called them back and they told me that my car was due an update but I would have to visit by dealer to get it sorted!

BMW needs to get their act together, because when i see a bunch of people getting their OTA...it’s frustrating. BMW should consider bringing in a more suitable IT team. The connected driving experience is a good chunk of reasoning for people purchasing these vehicles. When I am told I need to go to the dealership to “fix” the update to get the OTA update....i am hesitant to continue purchasing BMWs in the future...oh well.

I have this weird expectation of receiving something if I pay for said something...It’s not about a feature that i am missing, but more about shitty bugs in the software that should be fixed OTA instead of going to the dealership to beg for an update with some made up reason.

Do you like to just bend over and take the Bavarian sausage right up the money hole? I sure as hell dont, and expect BMW to deliver on these services that have been non-existent.

Sorry you feel that way. I bought a G20 because I liked the car. BMW Connected never factored in to the decision. If my car stayed on 7/2019 I would not have cared if it never updated. The software updates are trivial.

I'm looking forward to seeing Apple Maps in the HUD but agree it's not worth getting upset about.

It is annoying though that there appears to rhyme or reason or any real information about why someone gets it and someone 50 miles away with the same car doesn't.

Finally received my first OTA update to 07/2020.54. I was already running 07/2020.35.

But I am wondering, if anyone via dealership install has seen 11/2020.XX out in the wild yet. I haven't heard of anyone mentioning it. Considering we are halfway through the month surely someone must have gotten it! Would love to hear back!

Since it's about the middle of November, on my way to gym this morning, I went to my car's iDrive & checked for updates. Sacre Bleu!, I got a message that an upgrade was a available & it was preparing for update. Got to gym & turned off car; came back after work out & drove home, while it was still preparing. After cleaning up, I noticed my phone had downloaded update so I pulled car out of garage & car pulled the update from phone. After 15 minutes, update installed-- quite smoothly.

Well, in September when car was in for service, it got version 07/2020.45. This morning's update was a minor one, bringing car up to version 07/2020.54. I contacted the "BMW Genius" (what a misnomer) to ask when 11/2020 would be available & was told in a few months

Oh well, at least, remote update works-- this evening, I'll re-code my custom coding
