Same here. OTA upgrades to 07/2020.54 version are not finished yet and it seems even BMW does not know the logic behind that. So, we need to be patient.

It is interesting that no upgrade has occurred for that specific version (that we know of). It's of course entirely possible they check against the VIN and the currently installed version to determine if the vehicle will get an upgrade. This was a dealer installed version for me.

I own a 2019 G20 330e whith B48B engine

Very happy for now. 26.000 kilometers driven without any issue.

I received yesterday a call from the dealer stating that they need to do an update ordered by BMW. the did not know exactly to what is related.

Soneone has some info?

My 330e would not perform an ota update to the I drive. Taking it to the dealer this morning for them to do the update, the maps had updated to 2020-3. Odd that the maps updated its but not the I drive.

I seem to remember that the car needed to be updated to a certain version at the dealer last year before it will update over the air. And if you've missed the previous OTA to 11/2019.xx, then it may not trigger the OTA update to 7/2020.

Just my speculation why some people are not receiving OTA update even though they are in the same geographical locations.

Update after dealer visit. They found that the OTA module was in a 'strange state'. They told me that the maps update module is different to the I Drive software. Anyway, having reset it all, and telling me that everything is updated, I am still on 11/2019.70. When I returned to ask, they apologised and realised that they had only updated the maps (which did not need updating), even through the BMW job card said that the IDrive version had been updated!!!! They asked me to see if it updated over the weekend otherwise they will collect the car, give me a loaner, and sort it out!

For next time, it's not the I drive you want them to update, it's the integration level ( aka ilevel, or istep).

The Idrive (actually an MGU ecu) is one of about 15 modules that gets updated.

I drive a 2019 G20 in NY area and noticed that latest OTA software updated killed HDD radio channel sound. You can still see and listen to the HD channels but after switching to an HD channel, it would show an HDD icon next to the channel name after like 2 seconds and then the sound quality would improve dramatically. Not anymore.

Has anyone else noticed that?
