Just got the update from 03/2020.40. Android auto and stuff is working but my backup camera is now bugged, the bmw aerial view icon isn't centered and there's a line of "dead" pixels in the rear camera view.

Anyone else encountered this problem? Or any fixes?

I had the same problem with the black line down the image, they updated the software. Below is the SIB about it.

I just brought my 2020 330 in for service and they gave me a 21 340 for loaner. It had the latest version of software and android auto and all that. On my service request, I asked for an update to 7/2020 or whatever it takes to get android auto. The dealer responded with "no updates are available for your car and android auto isn't ready yet. Only the new 21 vehicles have it for now".

Oh well.

I was just prompted to download 07/2020.80 - is it worth it?

I'm on 03/2020.58 currently...

I don't want to lose the tach in the HUD for Sport, nor do I really want to recode everything.

Finally got a software upgrade prompt. Version 07/2020.80, upgrading from version 11/2019.70. Just after I coded ASS memory, oh well.

Well... I just did the update to 07/2020.80 - The tach in the HUD for Sport mode is gone and the cameras are all jacked around and I have the black line.

I guess there's no fix for the HUD... and it looks like I have to take the car in to get the camera displays fixed??

Argh.

Is there a way to look at the G20 software version history? What’s the latest release, when did it come out and does BMW publish release notes?

Yes you can find it on BMW website incl. release notes

I'm currently on 11/2019 still. Have the 07/2020.80 update waiting. Any issues or significant changes or problems when going from that early to the current one?

Looks like a bunch of us in the US got the upgrade. I got it and downloaded it to my phone on Thursday. What was odd was that after the upgrade was loaded to the vehicle, I got a message that the software was available for install and that it would take about 20 minutes. I was getting takeout so, I didn't want to do it then. So I figured I'd be able to do the update when I got home a few minutes later, but it wouldn't allow it. I had a couple of days back and forth of having the upgrade at the wrong time (stopping for gas) and not available when parking for a while. Finally this morning, when I arrived at the supermarket, the update was available and I started it.

By the time I got back, the update was complete. If you have remote start, you need to re-enable it from the Ventilation/Pre-conditioning menu.

This morning when I got up, I had a notification from Connected App that a remote software update was available. I logged into the app & it cooked for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I had to use my car today & couldn't install update. This evening I checked the app & it showed no update available. I am pretty sure it didn't install today

Will it come back tomorrow?

Yes it will, or maybe the next day. Seems to be hit or miss when stopping and shutting the car off when the update is available to install.

Only thing I've noticed is the tach in the HUD is gone when in sport mode. Not sure if it's a bug or intentional. Anything different is pretty much what they said they added in.

Argh.

There's a fix of sorts for this. Enable sports displays in all modes and it makes it permanent.
