Updated to 11/2022.xx, noticed the cluster and the HUD have much better font now. The speed limit in the HUD now turns the speed red instead of flashing the speed limit sign. Other than that I didn’t notice any other changes.

What have you gone from as there’s no change in font from 07 to 11!
( note 40i/d have a different font normally to the other models, if you have something else )

From 07.2021.50. The default font on that istep is very hard on the eyes. They changed the font to make them bigger and easier to read it seems.

Perhaps them then they did then, but if so it will have happened between 21-07 and 21-11

Yes, and then you wrote that it was updated again to 07/2022.33. My conclusion would be that the car has a HW problem unless BMW has indicated that they perhaps changed components in newer builds (similar to the WiFi and AC/AA beginning this year) that would require new SW to be developed?

OK, so "07" must have been a typo...

After checking the printout for my vehicle he informed me that it was already up to date. Right or wrong I'm on 07/2022.33 which is the update installed by the same dealer on 08/08/2022 when I went in for a 5k oil change, jerkiness with the auto stop/start and slowing down of the vehicle and poor/late or no function of the parking and cross traffic sensors. As an aside the software update didn't help/correct any of the issues.

I have a 2020 M340i and the dealer did an update to fix an issue.

After the update I have noticed that all the privacy options are no longer in the iDrive menu. There used to be a whole section on this whereby you could switch on/off what information is shared including a blanket option to turn everything off. There was also another section on video recording and permissions on that.

All these are now gone.

Has anyone else noticed this and do you know how you can now control what information is shared etc.

I know for many/most don't care about this, but for those that this is important I am interested to know what can be done.

Sounds strange. See if you have access to them in the My BMW app (if you use that.) The same selections seem to be in there in settings privacy (but I'm on older iDrive version.)

Yes mine were there in the older version - newer version - gone! All the settings relating to privacy are gone.

2022 330i M-Sport, delivered with 11/2021 software back in Feb 2022. Since delivery, the vehicle would have very intermittent glitches with iDrive, CarPlay, PDC & some others I can't recall. Nothing impacting performance or safety when driving the car but definitely annoying when it happens. RSU was not working at all. On-board nav was laggy & it looked like the maps weren't updating, based on my research.

I brought her in this past weekend for 10K oil change, inspection, etc. I had sent my service advisor a copy of the SIB for RSU not working. I spent 4hrs at the dealership but it was fine since I had some work to catch up on & the customer lounge area is nice.

The service team found two bad rear PDC sensors, iDrive was updated to 11/2022.27 version, oil change done, diagnostics done & she received a clean bill of health afterwards. I had to redo all the coding I did with Bimmercode (restore from backup & test to make sure it worked). Navigation is a lot faster (lag is gone & search for places/addresses comes up quicker) & tech said he would escalate the map update issue since he wasn't familiar with it. Time will tell but I'm generally pleased with this software version & that the dealership didn't push back on my request for software update (service advisor is also a BMW enthusiast & his daily driver is a mint E39 that I got to see while waiting).

I tried to manually update my car using the latest full PSDZ. I was surprised to see my current iStep was already up to date (07.2021.xx). I do however have OCD and constantly check for OTA updates.

If you are on that istep, then either you don’t have the latest psdz or it’s incorrectly configured.
It should come with 22-11-544 and also a 22-07-5xx backup level

FYI: For anyone with iDrive 8 and 07/2022 software, if your navigation system stops speaking actual street names, get it updated at the dealer. I checked on i4 Talk and saw others having the same issue. I took my 23 M340i to my dealer who updated it to 11/2022 which fixed the issue.

On Christmas I received an update in my car. After downloading and uploading my car is keep saying. I’ll inform you when the update can be installed. Normally this is due to a low battery voltage. So I charged it via the BMW CTEK charger for over 24 hours till the green charging LED. However, after starting and stopping the car it still wont install the latest update. Car is parked in a normal garage where the car is still connected via GPS. Any other tips/tricks/prereqs so the installation can start?

Is this still rolling out in the US? No update for me yet, I'm on 11.2021. Car was built in Jan 2022.

The latest OTA update for iDrive 7 and 8 is 07/2022 software. You can get 11/2022 from a dealer if you’re having infotainment issues. I’d check with your dealer to see why you’ve missed the 03/2022 and 07/2022 OTA updates.

It looks like the latest in US is 2022-03 based on the release notes listed here? https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/conne...html#resources

I recently updated to 07.2022 and immediately after I got "driver assistance reduced" and my sideview mirror turns up instead of down when I reverse. Very odd as everything was fine before the update. I tried resetting the system by pressing the volume knob and it did not resolve the issue. Any other suggestions besides taking it to the dealer?

If those issues don’t go away with resetting it several times, your only bet is for a dealer visit to fix it.

That is false. 11/2022 is the latest available for both iDrive 7 and iDrive 8. It’s only available at dealers. 07/2022 is the latest OTA available. Don’t trust what release notes are out because BMW has been notoriously bad for when they actually put out release notes.
