Anyway, the initial quotes pre-modification also seem ridiculous to me. I'm a similar age to you and also have a clean licence with full no-claims; by way of comparison I've just insured my G21 M340i for £345 fully comprehensive (£300 excess) with Saga. There were also other companies quoting a similar or even slightly lower premium on the comparison websites but most were with a higher excess. Therefore, given your age and driving history £750 with a £550 excess for a 330d sounds very expensive to me; I know the West Midlands is probably a higher risk area than North Yorkshire but even so.... |

A couple of pics now that the new arrival has spent a few days getting detailed. Loving the Dravit, loving the car!

Unfortunately, Birmingham along with London is a car crime hotspot so I guess this is the reason for penalising careful drivers |

My wife took delivery of a 118i M Sport in mineral grey but it doesn’t look as good as that! I’ve bought some detailing kit and wax to give it a proper clean during the 2 week summer holiday (at home...).
My M340i Touring is going in for ceramic treatment tomorrow. |

This looks great. I was considering getting the grill done and this has definitely made my mind up! Did you replace the whole grill? I was thinking about getting it wrapped for ease but I've seen it's not too difficult to change.

I've had chrome grills wrapped in the past and they don't wear well over time. I guess it depends on how much the £80 difference means to you. But having been there before, I'd really recommend biting the bullet and getting the OE part. |
