Leather dash option?
do you guys think the G20 will have a leather dash option? maybe the m340i? or if any will it only be possibly offered on the upcoming m3's like it was on the outgoing m3's? would this be a rare option because I barely see leather dash option on any used g30 5 series on autotrader now?

I highly doubt it will be an option. I believe the M340i will have a sensatec dashboard but I'm not sure if it will be stitched or not. Leather would be nice but very few people would get it. Most people don't want a very expensive 3 series. A fully loaded one can easily hit $60k+. With too many options, it just becomes too rare to outfit.
That's the reason they're dropping the manual, after all. And I'm sure the take rate for manuals would be higher than a leather dashboard. Sorry, I have to mention the manual in every G20 thread to vent my disappointment. |

I'm sure it'll be an option once the M3 comes out. With the F series, leather dash wasn't available on lower-end versions until then...

When I recently test drove the Jag i-Pace, it had a full leather interior and it made the car feel like a Bentley. Detroit has always considered small cars to be "cheap" cars. The European premium car manufacturers have reversed that to an extent in the US, but they still tend to restrict the full luxury treatment to the larger cars and I'm sure that's because of take-up rates. I hope that the new all-electric cars, which are smaller; like the iX3, i4, e-Tron and EQC will allow full-boat luxury treatment.

My 340i was from before BMW put the stitching on the dashboard which I am not really a big fan of with the soft touch plastic. I like the soft touch without stitching on my model.
A sensatec dash with stitching will be nice to have. I wonder if there will be a BMW Individual option like on the 4 series for extended Merino leather. From what I see on the configurator it looks like a $1500 upgrade over a standard leather upgrade which is worth it for me to get more leather on the dash and door panel area.

Leather dash was an option for all F3* & F8* models in the UK no reason to think it won't be offered on the G20

In Europe, the leather dash is an option for the new G20.
From the Belgian configurator : Sensatec dash : 510 € BMW Individual leather Dash : 1.275 €
