My process is to calc it ahead of time to do all your financial planning prior to going into the dealer. Once at the dealer do not proceed with negotiations without having the invoice (wholesale) vehicle inquiry report. You will find the calculations won't be that far off. There are a couple factors to remember
-destination and delivery doesn't have an invoice value
-there are some other charges that can be factored in like a few hundred bucks for marketing or training fees that go into the wholesale but do not affect the msrp (you will see these on the report)
