Lol it's all subjective and depends on the car. I agree white gives off rental car vibes on most cars but in my opinion looks nice on M sport BMWs, especially with red interior.

The badge is officially meaningless now, nevermind this has been available for years.

Do you buy an M car for the badge?
Because if a 316i has a tacky ebay M badge on it (as funny as it is), it still won't change what an M car beneath the skin is.
Which is what you pay for I assume, but if the badge is the center point for you I guess... alright.
I was anticipating this type comment. This sad degradation has been going on for years, badges to me are quite meaningless. A BMW marketing ploy that has gotten way out of hand, but you knew this M's should be reserved for M's, only in moderation.

I know it's been said a million times, but it really does look like a Lexus from the rear.

That doesn't look merino, isn't merino smooth? That looks like vernasca or whatever its called. I have yet to see a G20 with Nappa or proper merino extended leather.

Completely agree. Love everything about the car but can't get over the clear tail light Lexus look. Very odd that Bmw decided to give the rest end the Japanese treatment.

Mineral Grey > Dravit Grey. Personally would not pay extra for a more dull grey.

Everyone keeps complaining about the rear, but still can't get past the grill and headlights. Corona rings were very distinctive, this is just...blah.

Grey is the worst color, I don't know why people get it. None of the sophistication of black and none of the sportiness/youthfulness of white. White is an easy color to keep clean too. Maybe it's because I spend so much time in the gloomy Northwest but grey on a car just depresses me.

With that being said, I find that Nardo/Fashion/Dravit Greys to be somewhat attractive due to their flat/non-metallic finish. But if I were spending $$ for some Individual color I'd get something more flashy for sure!
White just looks super feminine to me. It looks like you're driving your girlfriend's car.

I never liked earth tones, but I especially don't care for tan. I don't ever wear tan or brown. To me tan/brown definitely doesn't go with gray, but I see a lot of other people like it so I guess it's just me.

Somehow I guess I became guilty of being a stereotypical NYer wearing black all the time. 🦇

I have Dravit Grey on my 8 Series and this is exactly how it is. All depends on the brightness of the light at the time. Grey is the most popular colour in the UK!

Loll that's a fair point, especially in California chicks love driving white entry level executive cars.

Looks like Vernasca to me as well. This has much more grain than Merino does

Yes, I get that...which is kind of my point. Seems a tad "overdone".

Lighten up, Francis - no offense meant. I would have said the same for any BMW. I just think all of the pomp and circumstance is silly. You don't, and that's fine. It's a big world in this forum.

But I do find it ironic that you criticize my generalizations...while making a generalization about "typical M" owner. And how did this become about how much money someone makes? I missed that point completely. But please...continue to make assumptions about me although we've never met.

PS - Do you notice that, although I could easily write "M4 and X5M" in my signature, I specifically chose not to? Hmmm...for a "typical M owner" I sure don't use that letter in my vehicle descriptions much.
+10 desertfox73 for the Stripes reference.

Hi. I'm the Regional Sales Manager for ADM.

I don't charge extra for Dravit Grey - having said that, being an Individual colour, there is a lot of metallic, thus it does look a lot different under different light conditions. Under direct sunlight it lights up in a gold/olive hue. It's pretty.

Hi everyone.

I'll clarify some points.

The images were taken from our Facebook page (BMW Abu Dhabi Motors), I keep it active with unique cars I come up with, and new releases.

The colour is Dravit Grey, with Cognac Vernasca leather (not Merino, that was an assumption made by most online publications that have shared the images)

The Headlights are LED.

The car drives superbly - it's surprisingly firmly sprung, yet more solid than f30. The interior is also impressively well-put together - no buzzes or rattles when traversing rougher surfaces. Wizardry makes it sound like a 6-cylinder when in "sport" mode. Fake, yeah, but it is more pleasant than a 4-cylinder sound.

I use the theatre for my photos because, well, I have it available - I could do photos in the showroom but then it would take longer due to lighting, customers walking around etc. It's also pretty unique so adds a bit of mystery and allure, if you will.

Regarding the controversy around the rear light design - I'll have to use the old cliché - it looks different in real life. There are design lines above the lights that "taper" the rear, and the lights themselves are 3-d - when you look at the car you don't see Lexus at all.

Definitely worth a visit to your nearest dealer for a look-see and test-drive.

The car is starting to appeal to me. Have been invited to go and test a 330i and an M340i in March by my local dealer so it will be good to see one in the flesh and better still, see what the fuss is about in terms of their handling and steering
As for this colour combo, the interior is okay but the exterior? It's grey, for f**ks sake. Nothing to see here, move on
