I'm confused by this thread. I called the hotline cause my tracker was stuck in the same spot for 2 weeks and they said car will be completed in September 14th. Mine is a simple build and no big options so maybe it moves faster who knows. Also no clue after it's completed how long it will take to get to the dealer. Some are saying another 4 weeks so that sucks......

Today's update: SA told me that my 9 week delay from 36 to 45, is being caused my ordered adaptive suspension, and related semi conductor chip shortage.
The update in my timeline this past week moving back to order received, seems to correspond with the same time that adaptive suspension was pulled as an option from the configurator online. Makes me more confident that there is a real reason for my delay. We know, that those of us with sold orders will get adaptive, if ordered. Just trying to figure out if there is a link between those of us who ordered adaptive, and the resulting bump to a much later later build week. Some are delayed 5 weeks and up to 9 weeks in my case. So, I have 2 questions: 1) have those who got bumped to later build weeks, ordered adaptive suspension? Pretty sure Springerdrive, MK1978, PFH21 ordered adaptive. Can you confirm? If you ordered it and it got bumped by many weeks, this could explain the delay. grantj1983, pretty sure you ordered it as well, and know you are still waiting to go into production, and have only been bumped out 1 week from 36. You could be the exception.... 2) In my personal case. I have 2 options. SA assured me week 45 will be the build week, and it will not get further delayed. BMWUSA confirmed. If all goes well, I should take deliver early to mid December. I could also, now drop the adaptive suspension, and SA said I'd likely go into production as early as next week. Yeah, I know, grain of salt. Delivery estimated 3rd week in October. I'm not in any real rush, as I have a car, that I'll trade in. It's also possible, although no guarantee, that the incentives could be better in December. SA is also working on keeping the current finance rate at .9 through delivery for all the delays, and inconvenience. So, get the car sooner without adaptive? Or, wait it out and get adaptive. I'm buying, and I keep my cars for at least 6 years. I've read all the threads about adaptive vs. standard set up. Most think adaptive is the way to go, especially for such an inexpensive option. Thing is, I test drove the car 4 times, all non-adaptive and it felt great to me. Will I not miss what I don't know? I'm on the fence. Thoughts and opinions welcome. Thanks |

Pretty sure you ordered adaptive suspension, if i recall. The fact that you only got bumped to 37 is interesting. From what I've read, there is a 7 to 10 day window for production, so if your car is to be finished by 9/20, then you should see the next step on the timeline, anytime from 9/10 to 9/13. If you make it through, you'd be the rare exception. It concerns me that your SA has heard nothing. Sounds like typical salesman denial and optimism. My opinion of course. Keep us posted. |

Yes, we ordered adaptive suspension, and would not remove it to affect an earlier delivery. Like you, I've read all the positives about adaptive, and also like you, we tend to keep our cars a long time, and don't want to be wondering "what if...". I know the wait seems like an eternity right now, but in the grand scheme of things will a few extra weeks really matter if we get exactly the cars we wanted?

jg4c I am curious about why you got bumped to week 45 and I got week 42 (per genius- still haven't heard back from dealer) even though you were previously one week ahead of me. Perhaps there's some other option in your order that's causing it? FWIW, here's my VIR:

I have no clue, and it really pisses me off. I have so far, the longest bump at 9 weeks. Longer than most who were behind me.
Just doesn't seem right. Our builds are similar, other than I ordered Dravit, still a priority one color like your Tanzanite. And, I did not order Driver Assistance Professional. I went with 792's with non run flat high performance, and black Vernasca. Check out this thread posted a few hours ago in another section. An HK module recall, that may be affecting us all. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1857327 |

Guys, my week 38 build got moved to week 44. My dealer told me a stop order and delivery stop was put on the model do to an audio module issue. They said everything is stopped until new module is available. Who knows how long it will take. Very disappointing.

I ordered an M440i. I know a lot of you guys are 3 series. Not sure if that’s what the difference is that we’re seeing?
Anybody with an M440i with a significant push back on the build week? |

They have the same optional HK audio system if that is the issue.....mine was built in week 31 and is at the Performance Center for delivery in a few weeks....fingers crossed.

Certainly possible, since they are built in different plants. Do you have HK audio ordered? Appears to be an issue there which could effect the delay on all 3 series and 4 series. |

I have some rather positive news to share. My car has entered production! That is significantly earlier than the week 40 estimation. I did not get the M Suspension. I was told its the laser headlights and the driving assistance pro package that is causing delays for my M440. Heres to more good news and I hope the same happens for you all this week!!

Congrats "pfh21"
Do you know which plant is building your car? Also what was the original build week you got? I am waiting on a week37 M440i-GC to move from step2-to-step3. |

Finally an update after moving to Production Begins on 8/30. Today it moved to Exterior Body Assembly Begins. It’s supposed to be completed on Friday, 9/17, so looks like I had a 1 week delay from Build Week 36 to Build Week 37 but other than that all is good.

Decided to see if there was any movement on my week 45 build, pushed out from week 36.
Based that on another member, who has a similar build and color, also pushed out from 36 to 45. Yesterday, he says the genius line confirmed that he has been re-assigned to be built next week, 38. So, I call the genius line, and they tell me that my week 45 has now disappeared and "should" get re-assigned soon. They can only see in their system the original build week assigned as 36, they do not see anything about week 45 anymore, Week 45 was confirmed by my SA and the genius line a few weeks ago. Got a call into my SA. Anyone experience anything like this? Their build week just disappearing? |

My car was supposed to be completed on 9/17. Finally went to “Quality Check” on 9/20 and still sitting there today. Genius can tell me nothing. My SAs hide and act like I’m bothering them if I ask for an update. I’m not having fun with this right now. The information flow is terrible.

On the bright side, we can always look around and see others who are further away from getting their car. Mine's not even in production yet- hopefully will start in 3 weeks. Your car is actually built- that's a good thing! Keep the faith! |
