Nice touches, but would be a tough sale against newly refreshed Tesla 3 performance with a price tag of 57k, 0-60 of 2.9 and range of 300 miles supported by easily accessible charging network.
BMW has to setup its game to be able to compete.

I’d argue the cost difference is in good build quality, customer support and much nicer materials. I don’t know who in the world would ever buy an EV in general let alone a BMW EV when they’re currently producing the best engines they ever had and their reliability is stellar now. But to each their own.

I do, like thousands others. I have a new M2 and an IX and Ix is such a fun car to drive, bmw can make fantastic electric cars if they are serious about it (Ix).
I do have a Tesla 3 too, and it’s such joy for daily driving and such a painless commuter.
Most of people who talk negatively about EVs don’t have live with one.
By the way, the fun part of EV ownership is you really don’t need customer service support, in the last 4 years of Tesla ownership and 6 months of IX ownership I never needed to contact dealer. Meanwhile my M2 has been in dealership 3 times in one year of ownership.
Different ballgames.
Good to have choices.

My Tesla M3 was more like a 'kit' car than my new i4M50. The Tesla was a good commuter but the build quality really was dreadful. Going to the Tesla shop in North Tampa ended my interest in Tesla for ever. The Tesla service was so amazingly bad I vowed never to look at another Tesla.
My BMW only has 2500 miles on it so far - I'm crossing my fingers that it is reliable. The quality of the M50 is as good or better than any BMW or Porsche I've owned and I enjoy my commute quite a lot.
The BMW is $20,000+ more expensive than the Tesla but for myself it is worth the money.

Just ordered one and can second this. I don’t see the value in the i4. Price of the model 3 performance is actually less - $55k with either a paint option other than grey or the white interior - and $7.5k less if you qualify for the tax credit. Crazy low price for the performance, and now it has forged and staggered wheels, adaptive suspension, ventilated sport seats, 510 hp, improved track mode, dual pane glass all the way around, improved aero and downforce, etc etc. No brainer. And I much prefer my BMWs, but yeah, the Tesla is 1000 lbs lighter at $20-30k less and has better performance and the SC network.

Your not wrong…

But I think Elon smoked some weed 💨 and lowered the price to $54,630 the following morning… 🤣

All true.....but if looks and interior matter, the I4 is leaps and bounds better.

I see so many Model 3's on the road...and it quick glance they all look the same.

I disagree, I think these cars are well-positioned to a higher income customer that likes the bmw brand

Leaps and bounds better…. I disagree. I’ve had vernasca leather, and it’s not that good. And looks are subjective, but I can live with the exterior of the Tesla - doesn’t bother me. Actually, looking the same is a good thing for commuting and for the kids car. I understand what you’re saying, but the value trumps some subjective perception and the interior of the Tesla actually holds up better to punishment than the BMW. It’s also very easy to use for the commute.

Why? Toyota Corolla and Honda Accord always existed, Model 3 is in their class.
BTW, 57K is too much for Model 3.

Imagine BMW coming out with a car 1k heavier than the competition in the 1980s and calling themselves the Ultimate Driving Maching..LOL
