This shows it's rear quarter hips off nicely like the 8 series, when I look in the drivers door mirror you can see these bulging rear arches like an Aton Martin.. I love it every time and reminds me I'm in something special

I don't hate it

I must say... From the pictures, things do look promising. We will never get away from the fact that the grille is massive, however I don't know how much better it would look if the grille were smaller...

Many of the lines I feel are quite fussy on the car. I prefer the more simple lines on my E36 coupe for example, but I like how "abstract" it is... If you can even call it abstract lol

What they have done here is really bold and clever in my opinion. A C class coupe is too similar to the saloon. Likewise with the Audi A5 and the previous gen 4 series. This definitely has its own character to it.

The fact that it won't come with a manual doesn't really bother me anyways. The standard 3 series is too big IMO to have a manual and the auto is good enough anyways.

This car will do well I think. I am lucky to be living in Munich to see a few uncamouflaged prototypes driving around soon

No thanks. Sorry, but that is a design crying out for attention. It further brings the brand away from their past, which is what I guess they want to do when prioritizing sales numbers. It'll sell because it's 'loud' and people will lease it to stand out for a little bit before moving to the next weird thing, but from a design perspective that is just awful and forgettable. It's basic. I wouldn't call it ugly, but I would never pay money to own something like that.

As I said in the other thread, this will only look good in black sapphire with a black grille. Otherwise, it's going to be hard for many to overlook the grill. Also the tail has lost all the BMW ness, and looks very Japanese. I don't hate the rear, just doesn't scream BMW or German design.

Couple of things I like:
I like the rear Lexus style lights. Also reminds me a bit of the E92/3.
Very aggressive front / pouncing stance.

My e92's rear lights, shape, stance, or body... look NOTHING like this one's does....

This is not an athletic looking car. It looks plump and a bit sad with a buck tooth grill only an orthodontist would love.

How is a USA style license plate supposed to work? Guess you could have a custom euro style plate made.

Audi did the big grille thing 10 years ago. Bit late don't you think BMW?

Are my eyes deceiving me or are these headlights, doors, quarter panels, and rear bumper the same as the ones on the 8 series?

That grille ruins what could have been one smoking looking car.

I think it's just about 3 inches shorter than an F10.

I'm so confused right now. I really want to like it but I'm not sure I do.
I have a F36 and was looking forward to get the new 4 series GC but now I'm not sure I will.

I feel like the new 5 series looks better?

I own an 8 and it's not far off.. the rear arch finishes move abruptly whereas the 8 has a bit more Vanquish flow to it. One thing pictures can't show is just how low and flat an 8 series is, part of the release info says this is 52mm lower than the current 4, in the flesh this will also be low and wide.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Just curious. Anyone seen a picture or with photoshop skills to put on a US or Canadian sized license plate on the front end? I think those plates are a little taller and a lot narrower than the Euro plates and may change the look of the front (for better or worse)...

So the Hoffmeister Kink is officially buried now? It's been disappearing/getting stylized - but with this one, it's gone completely.
