Any benefit of having a member referral when signing up for a BMW CCA Membership?

I'm thinking of signing up for a membership. I've read a couple threads on here and the perks sound good. Any benefit of having a member number for a referral?

I have been a member for many years. The Northwest has a very active chapter. The rebates on new and CPO BMWs are an added bonus. Also all my local dealers give you 10% off on parts and service.

My pops just joined, he's in the Seattle area. Are there a lot of events?

Persistent rain is always a limiting factor for the car scene in the NW.

I signed up to get my BMWCCA rebate for $500 when I purchased a new G20. 3 yr membership is 134 dollars and I get back 500. Worth it for me because of that.

I think a referral gets 5 dollars to use at their website.

How fast were you able to get the code/discount after signup? I was considering the same route

I haven't got the check in the mail yet. It's a slow process unfortunately, takes like 2-3 months to get your check in the mail. I submitted mines a month ago and it still hasn't been looked at from what I see from the status of it on the website.

I was at Chapman BMW in Phoenix over the weekend.

Local Chapter had a "Cars and Coffee" GTG at the dealer.

I am not a member yet, but had a chance to talk with some great members.

I got a $500 rebate on my 128i and won a 325iS in the raffle, so I would say that it is definitely worth joining.

My rebate was approved by BMWCCA about a week after I submitted it. Now it's waiting for BMW NA to approve it and send out a check. It's been waiting for that for about a month.

The BMWCCA says the wait time for a check can be as long as three months but some people have posted that it took about 6 weeks for their check to arrive.

It $1000 of an X5 so it's kinda' a no brainer to join.

To answer the OP original question, if you're a new member with a referral from a current member, then both of you get entered into a separate drawing for ///M schools (and other prizes). The more referrals current members get, the more entries into the pot:

https://www.bmwcca.org/membershipdrive

One of the biggest perks is the member rebate and its a no-brainer. Get anywhere between $250-1500 rebate on CPO/new vehicle.

Discount - No. Not all dealerships participate and some only partially (discount not applied to parts used on dealership work). Better deals are available via online vendors if you DIY.

Rebate - Yes

Roundel - No, info is dated. However Tech Talk is a worth while read. Letters to editor are essentially one big bitch session.

Local Chapter Events: Absolutely worth it.
