There are ambulance chasing lawyers everywhere now so I'd be willing to bet as EV's grow, they will mention such accidents in their ads.
So eventually you'll see cables in bright yellow or orange with reflective stripes on them.
Yeah well bless their little hearts...

It's not easy to get much money for injuries these days

They have bright colors in Europe already so it's already being implemented

I come from a family of law and I laugh at losers who's think they can sue others for their own stupidity

I agree with you in regards to people's stupidity and claims.
Now with payouts here not being anywhere near as large nor sought to be here in the UK and I suspect, most of Europe, if their is even a sniff of a few grand, or even hundred, some unscrupulous types will chase it.

On the subject of "Stupid People" I offer the following:

https://psychology-spot.com/basic-la...man-stupidity/

I found the read to be spot on, funny and tragic at the same time.

I think bmw can can kick the crap out of tesla if they build a competent car. Electric batteries are like auto transmissions, tesla essentially had the only game in town. Now see how they do when they are everywhere and are a commodity. I didnt buy a tesla because there is no where to service them, buy parts, bitch when things go wrong or a decent parts replacement pipeline. BMW has all that plus a loyal following. I think the tesla experience is terrible for average people with the reasons i mentioned. Early adopters yes, average car owner no...

Looks like Polestar is readying a new High-Performance variant of their EV, as teased by the CEO on social media.

Yeah I like him and his approach in general as a CEO

However their battery offering is pathetic and they are pricing like they match Tesla, and they don't

I spent time with the car while in Seattle in Dec of 2019... It's extremely nice, but the range is a huge disappointment

Agree. Volvo seems to be promising a lot of changes to their lineup, dealership/sales system, as well as EV goals but I have yet to see any of it be successful or come to fruition.

I have seen one Polestar 2 since they have been on sale. I don't even know how to purchase one or where to find one as I don't think Volvo wants them at their dealers. Its incredibly questionable of an approach considering Polestar is an unknown brand to many and Volvo is one of the smallest luxury brands in the US, and they just put a s*** ton of money into upgrading all their dealers which makes it more confusing that they only want an online sales approach.

The Polestar 2 car be purchased online but only God Knows how and when you'd see your car

The XC40 Recharge has the same ev powertrain w/closer to 200 miles range because that car sits higher off the ground

Current idrive7 cars already have OTA updates. Tesla fanboys always bring this up, as if Tesla is the only car with OTA updates, as they don’t seem to know anything about any other car. But there are many, including the big 3 Germans.

You are forgetting the one absolutely key advantage of Tesla...charging stations. I looked up "Electrify America" and there is not a chargng station within 40 miles of my house. On the other hand, there is a huge Tesla station a mile away at a high end mall where I could spend some time while my car is being charged.

Very true but doesn’t make it worth having to have something of the quality of a Tesla. Choices would be 1) wait until other EVs are sufficiently supported, 2) get a hybrid, or 3) stay with ICE. Just not a Tesla.

Electrify America arguments are obviously valid for... America only.
In EU we have Ionity, many local HPC charging companies and BMW will cover all of them cross country thorugh BMW Charging. I tried it with my 330e back in 2020 and it already worked like a charm (in Spain, France, NL, etc). Also BMW in Europe offers 1st year free subscription to premium BMW Charging services, making HPC charging super cheap (cheaper than regular power, i.e. 0.22 EUR/kwh).
It has now also been confirmed that in order to continue get government support to build extra supercharges, Tesla has to open it's network to other manufacturers by 2022. Several countries already in the list.

I certainly wouldn't rely on a charging station at a mall to decide whether or not to buy an EV. Reality is that there are not that many convenient Tesla Superchargers outside of California and when Cali finally falls into the ocean, those will be gone forever.

Its hard to say which needs to come first, the EV or the charging station, but one will follow the other. Regardless, networks are being built in the US and abroad, and most EVs will be charged at home most of the time anyway, so the charging stations are but one factor of the equation.
