Definitely need a tune before making any real comment. It's night and day otherwise.

The base tune is in and configured like the post from Encanto. It sounds a lot better and the bass is now coming through the subs. I will have to do some a bit of adjusting but this is a great starting point.

I left the MEC analog switch on 8-30v and jumper removed. I still do not understand why this was necessary and wonder if it causes degraded audio performance.

Either way the amp is working and I appreciate all the input and help from everyone on this thread. I planned to take install pictures but I always get sidetracked and forget to.

Max output voltage of the RAM HiFi system is 10V, so the UP 7BMW 3.5V-11V input level setting is correct for the HiFi system.

Input level 8-30V is for the RAM Top HiFi (HK) system - max output voltage of the RAM HK system is 26V.

I will need to go back in and add the jumper back in and change the switch back to 3.5-11 volts. I am worried I may get the error again from the tuning software.
Is there any issues with leaving the jumper out and switch on 8-30 volts?

I already put everything back together (3m taped the amp) and don’t want to remove anything if there is no negative affect to the current settings.

There should be less hiss with the 3.5-11v setting than with the 8-30v.

Hi,
Sorry I’m a complete noob when it comes to sound. I pick up my G20 on Tuesday and the print out I have says it’s S0676 sound system. Will this amp be a plug and play for that?

Thanks

S0676 is the HiFi sound system.

Hey guys, very intersting thread!

I have an 2020 G20 with HK and the Matchup 10DSP with the 1.9 harness. Following problems though:
- Audiotech Fischer DSP tune sounds terrible and defaults to the the virtual management. The basic tune has enhancers active which make the bass just vibrate. Any guidance on where/ how to best start the setup? Manual/ fresh file and assigning channels as in manual? I have an Umik 1 for measuring.
- Where did you guys place the amp? Next to battery lifts the floor up due to the cables and doesnt look to good
- also get the voltage warning, the dealer I bought it from said to ignore. The jumper seems to be set to the lower voltage...

Soo first impressions not great :-(

you guys without the RAM units are luckiest BMW owners on earth. Having to piggy back of this pos and be forced to use all the factory BMW crossover points and settings is terrible. Have you measured what they've done at 125Hz? It's literally non-existent. They've filtered it down to -10bd at least and once it's that far gone, it's gone. I've spent the last year trying to get it to sound perfect. UMIK-1 mic and HOURS and HOURS of time. You just can't get it right with the RAM unit, they've made it impossible. Once you get to around 60% of the max factory audio, the bass stays at the same level and the other frequencies are only increased. This means when you're tweaking in the Match DSP software, what sounds good at the max level without distortion will sound super boomy at 50%. There's no way around it.

I would KILL for an optical output from the head unit.

Has anyone noticed that when the engine is off when you're at a light the system sounds much more full? Pretty sure the "sound level" setting which also can't be defeated is responsible for this. The guys that designed the audio system for the X3's should be thrown off a bridge.

I just installed a Match DSP onto a RAM equipped HiFi system. Any chance you mind posting your tune?

I had no issue getting the system in my F30 sounding amazing (after removing the HiFi amp and the mids/tweeters).

I had anticipated on having to boost frequencies to offset the embedded crossovers, but I didn't realize that I'd be contending with what is essentially a loudness button.

Thanks!

Great info there. Wasn't aware of this product.

How good is the sound stage without the center speaker?

How is DSP profile configured? Do you just have to load the G20 profile and job done - or there is some manual adjustments needed.

Cool. I already have a MatchUp amp and Eton speakers all around + Focal floor woofers. I was just curious about your setup.

Sure. I've used the default BMW sedan config file, and then manually adjusted it according to MatchUp instruction manual.

Important to know is that:
- My basic system was HiFi (without RAM as I was lucky to get it since it was a summer 2019 production date)
- I have replaced all mid-bass and twitters with Eton BMW speakers
- I have replaced under-seat woofers with Focal BMW woofers
- I am running the system with all speakers (central speaker included)
- I have manually adjusted time alignment to get a sound stage that is centered right in front of my head at the level of my eyes/ears.

The file is in the attachment:
