She needs a bath but boy does that M Performance rear bumper trim and diffuser look sharp. Super easy install.

The correct JB4 wireless connect arrived today and I was able to wire it up in just a few minutes. It's pretty cool to fire up the app, set a map, and view the engine data in real time.

Can't wait to start logging and tinkering.

Logged 4 runs this afternoon on Map 2

I'm limited to 92 octane here in the Pacific Northwest so I'll have to be conservative with pushing the JB4. I do have access to E85 so I'm looking forward to experimenting with that soon. Gonna post this log over on the other forum and see what the BMS guys have to say.

Recieved clean feedback from the BMS folks, the JB4 Map 2 runs were good to go as I expected. My suspicions were confirmed that 92 won't be enough for me to run Map 3. Next steps will involve running a 70/30 mix of 92/E85 and dialing in a map from there.

After a few days with the JB4 I'm really digging the smooth power delivery compared to the JB+ I was previously running. Gonna add a 30% E85 mix in my next tank and log some map 3 runs at ~E25. Given my fuel octane limitation I'm definitely considering WMI to help with additional boost.

I dropped the M3 mirror caps off at the dealer for paint today, hopefully I'll get them installed this weekend.

I filled my tank today with 11 gallons of 92 and 4 gallons of E85 and logged a couple runs on the JB4 Map 3. I'm interested in how the timing held up, we'll see what the BMS guys say on the other forum.

I'm not sure the actual E% from the specialty fill up station / garage. There's another source that's local to me Forged Fuels and they provide E85 that tests at a true 85 as well as E98. They supply some 1000HP M car guys around here.

The G80 mirror swap was pretty straightforward, not overly difficult if you take your time. I like that they're more aggressive than the G2x but are overall a relatively subtle mod that add to my OEM+ exterior theme. I think this rounds out the body mods, now I really need to install my H&R springs to complete the overall exterior look.

Nice build! I put in an order for a 330i just today with similar specifications to you, noticeable aesthetic differences being real black leather vs. synthetic in my build, and blue vs. red brake calipers. I haven't seen any photos of a BSM G20 with the red brake calipers since colored calipers require, at least here in the US, optioning in "ZDH" Dynamic Handling Package which is supposedly a pretty uncommon thing to do. It'll be quite the step up from both the Mazda 3 and Honda CRV I'll be upgrading from. Hope and looks like you're enjoying yours!

Performed the brake flush I was unable to previously complete thanks to the DOA Schwaben bleeder, the Motive unit worked like a champ.

Installed the JB4 EWG harness and loaded v22 alpha firmware so I can do some logging this weekend. Pretty easy add on that will enable Map 6 tuning (absolute mapping).

Performed my first oil change since owning her, ran Liqui Moly engine flush through first, then changed out whatever the previous owner ran for 5.3L of LiquiMoly 5/30

I was barely able to get her up on the rhino ramps utilizing a bit of the hill my driveway has, and the front lip was able to clear the ramp. I'll have to figure something else out once I install the H&R springs.

Installed the FTP turbo inlet and charge pipe this afternoon, which was definitely easier when doing them together. This pretty much rounds out the breathing upgrades, but I may put the NPT bung in the charge pipe to use in the future.

I read previously the turbo inlet & cp upgrades can improve throttle response, and it could be the power of suggestion, but there does seem to be a slightly noticeable difference as I spent some time behind the wheel this evening. 🤷🏼

Also, it keeps bugging me the clamps aren't aligned after I installed it so I'll probably redo that tomorrow. I have zip tied some of the JB4 wiring with the various sensors they connect to and I'm thinking of getting some wire loom to clean that up a bit.

Picked up a set of used Dinan strut bars off FB for a great price. They were on an M440 so I hit up Ace Hardware for the appropriate M8 bolts and lock nuts as listed on Dinan's website. I'm happy with how they look and the install was super easy.

Have you noticed any handling changes? Or so marginal it’s more about the cosmetics?

I haven't performed any spirited driving yet, but I don't expect much beyond a nominal improvement (they improve some amount of chassis rigidity as demonstrated by their inclusion on 4 series models) and I wouldn't have shelled out retail price for them. I picked these up for about the same cost as simply retrofitting the OEM 4 series aluminum tube strut bars.

Turns out I'm an idiot. I've been running a Motorsport Hardware stud conversion kit for a while. I forgot however that I'm running the 14x1.25 (fine thread as the OE lugs bolts are) to 14x1.5 (coarse thread) 78mm bullet nose conversion kit, with the matching racing lug nuts which I picked up as part of a package deal from the squad over at Kies.

I recently ordered a Titan cold forged locking lug nut set from the Motorsport Hardware site, and went to install them yesterday. Turns out I ordered and attempted very forcefully to install 14x1.25 lug nuts onto 14x1.5 studs. I wasn't paying close enough attention until it was too late. I tried to back one out and it ended up breaking loose the wheel stud itself. So I've managed to cross-thread 2 of the wheel studs, converting them into lug bolts lol. MH doesn't have single 14x1.25-14x1.5 studs listed online so I'll have to give them a call about ordering replacement studs and a set of 14x1.5 locking lug nuts.

My plan today was to replace the bad wheel stud, check the other one for damage, clean the wheels off the car, and install the shorty tuner lock nuts on all four corners.

I went to replace the seized wheel stud today and discovered that when I re-seated the the stud/nut combo previously, I cross threaded the hub itself. I only realized it by snapping off the allen socket when I attempted to install the new wheel stud. I had to run out and get some 17mm nuts so I could break free the wheel stud, and a tap so I could rethread the hub.

Tracking down a 14x1.25 tap locally was no small task, but rethreading the hub went relatively smoothly and the replacement wheel stud installed without a hitch. Glad I ordered two, and that the second wasn't cross threaded too bad so I was able to clean up the threads with a file.

Spent today wrestling with the suspension before I had to cede defeat. I have to unpack the garage for a job this big so I started early. My first issue was the fact the pass through socket set I picked up for the job had 10-15,17-20mm sockets but inexplicably doesn't include 16mm which I needed for the end link and my T30 socket driver was too long to fit in the wheel well. So it took much much longer to use a 1/4 wrench with a T30 bit and a wrench to disconnect the end link.

Disconnecting everything else was relatively straightforward but try as I might, I could not disengage the bottom of the strut from the knuckle. I had the knuckle open using a spreader, used penetrating oil and slid the knuckle down a good 3 inches to the point it was nearly free but no amount of twisting, pushing or pulling could free the strut. After more than an hour of trying to get the strut out of the knuckle with no progress I knew I was cooked. I was disappointed but needed to get the car put back together and the garage repacked before we had friends over for dinner. I'll have to take another run at it when I return from vacation.

I came across a set of Vossen HF-5 wheels with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 all season tires on FB Marketplace. The wheels are nearly mint, with one of the rears having a slight blemish likely from when the tires were mounted. They have the upgraded billet center caps but I don't dig the red so I ordered standard gloss black Vossen caps from Vivid Racing. The previous owner oddly enough went without TPMS so I'll be getting those installed in the near future.
