This was about 18 years ago and I was not the driver. The boat was a 38+ pickle fork and we were at Havasu. On the shore I struck up a conversation with the driver and his wife (probably in their 70's) - he was a retired engineer from whipple engineering and not surprisingly his boat was powered by twin super charged (whipple charged engines) I think in the neighborhood of 1600 HP each. I commented that I could only dream of speed like what I was sure his boat could achieve.
He graciously offered my friend and me a ride and we jumped at the opportunity (not sure the best choice in retrospect - I had a beer drinking 70ish couple in front of me in control and 3000+ HP behind me). On the way out of the channel they handed us goggles and a beer. I literally was shaking an hour later - the sensation of speed with something that big and that fast on water was/is unbelievable. Very similar to star wars when they say warp speed and everything starts to blur Last edited by chenry; 12-02-2020 at 11:39 PM.. |

I went 157 MPH on the motorway, dead straight motorway and clear as day. At 155mph the car stopped accelerating when I had my foot pushed on the pedal but the road went down hill ever so slightly and I hit 157mph. Completely stock car M340i.

How did you get that power and eliminate the limiter?

I guess the car has realistic 530 - 550 hp. that must be near the limit the stock turbo can do. 0-100 kph ~3.5 sec 100-200 kph 7.4 sec 200-250 kph about 7 sec my car was on pirelli pzero at this footage. just the factory setup at 225/255 19inch tuned by mhd with stage 2+ ish costum tune, mh-pipes costum downpipe, ftp charge pipe, mst intake, milltek exhaust and 102 fuel. no ethanol or wmi :-) you can delete the vmax limiter with the mhd app. the digital cluster was changed via bimmercode. Rented a F80 M3 in Munich two years ago and went up to 137MPH on Autobahn, the car is solid at that speed. Most German cars limited at 155MPH due to MFG agreement but the M cars have the limiter removed if you have the competition package.

BMW 330e - 100 MPH
It really breezes to that speed because of how well built these things are for high speeds. Not pushing it any further because I still have to "break-in" the engine. |
