Delivery stop for the 330e in Europe - anyone have more details?

I was going to get my 2021 330e Touring on Monday but the dealer told me they can't give it to me. Its a red flag and they have some problem with the battery or something. They are afraid it is going to start a fire. Someone know more about this?

Yes, there is active recall on charging.
All deliveries stopped until they make solution.
Allegedly not all 330e are affected.

My new 330e touring is waiting for me at the reseller in Sweden. Was supposed to pick it up this week but got a call from the sales man that BMW had stopped all the deliveries of 330e until further notice. They were also told not to plug it in.

That’s all the info I got. Anyone else know more?

Same for me. I was told the delivery hold was announced on Aug 12.

Dealers seem neither know the reason for the hold, nor when they get more information from Germany. I am under the time pressure, and it feels like a torture not to know when I the car can be collected.

My 330e was released for delivery, will be getting it next week. It was hold at port for couple of weeks here in Finland. They did some tests before releasing it.

Got told yesterday mine had to go back to the port (about 500 km from the dealership) to get tested. They need to charge it to at least 80% minimum 3 times before it can be sent back to the dealership. Was told some technicians would come from Germany to do the testing at the docks (probably better it burns there than at the dealership...). This is in Sweden.

Lucky you guys. Maybe yours were quickly identified as not affected.

There are other threads about the delivery stop on this forum:

My dealer says that the problem with the battery tank has been solved and production of 330e proceeds normally. Apparently my 330e Touring, ordered in the beginning of August, has been produced already and will be here (Scandinavia) in mid October. I wonder how many have been sold when delivery is going so quickly. The few reviews I have seen are near ecstatic so looking forward to receiving the car.

Strange, I ordered my 330e berline mid June, contacted the dealer today and he told me it's actually in production as we speak and was in the system for delivery last full week of october ... This did seem very late and he thought it would probably be sooner, more mid October. Nonetheless, strange hearing these shorter delivery times. Might be the backlog due to covid and the production issues?

My 330e Touring is scheduled to go in production 12 October and delivery in the week of the 26th. I'm also from Belgium so might be that our cars will be on the same transport.

Could be indeed, though I'd think with a high volume seller like a 3 series it shouldn't need to take a month to arrange transport. But maybe that's my impatient side ☺️

Just got an email seemingly confirming delivery week 44 (week of 26/10) so still a couple of weeks waiting. That would be +-4,5months in total, which is longer than what I was expecting but ok, not much you can do about it.

Mine is moving even faster. Order signed in early August, built on 10 September and should be here in about two weeks.

I think that any new 330e will flow through in a reasonable timeframe those of us with a 330e in recall are seeing a long wait but some are now being delivered which is positive.
