I get an average of 39mpg on the motorway. About 20mpg in urban. Even if you don't plug it in, it will still charge on the go if you set Battery Control to 10-100%. It will then use the battery at slow speeds or when parking/manoeuvring to improve consumption.

Battery control does the MPg no favours. 45mpg on a run is achievable according to a few people I know.
When I had my demo it did 42mpg, On a 50 odd mile run with no charge. And that was playing about a fair bit. |

Interesting question.
I propose ICE only, will be similar to a standard 320i. I suggest the regeneration to the battery on deceleration, will not make up for the extra weight of the 330e. |

I very much doubt the ability to use electric power when parking or at slow speeds will make up for the increased consumption of the ICE when charging the battery. If it did make sense from an efficiency point of view, cars would be designed in a very different way, and at the very least, the 330e would recharge from the ICE by default!

From my usage I would say the ICE only mpg was around 40-43mpg.
Even on our long drive to Poland we were averaging 35mpg across Germany whilst maintaining 3 figure cruising speeds. Lowest I ever achieved was a 29mpg partial tank when running it in sport mode on a blast round the highlands without having any charge to start with. The biggest issue was never the mpg, but rather the small range you have due to the small tank.
