DMS Stage 1- 330E- Anyone done it?
All,
Considering taking my G21 to stage 1, as I have always done that with all my cars, found it really unlocks the true potential of the car. I could do with the extra BHP as its one thing I miss off my S3. Aside from the normal warranty voiding ( Not fussed, ive done it on every new car I have had) Is anyone aware of any particular issues after going stage 1? Has anyone done it yet? Would love to hear from someone's first hand experience? Any gearbox issues? 400bhp & 680 nm torque is fairly hefty. I have to confess I have never done it on a hybrid car, I do wonder if all the extra electrical gubbins might have issues if I do. Last thing I want is to bugger the hybrid aspect of the car, or have it break down frequently. Pic & link below... https://www.dmsautomotive.com/car/bm...ries-g20-2019/ cheers, Jack |

You won't totally void your warranty - just engine and drivetrain. They couldn't legitimately blame a remap if say your electric windows failed.
DMS have a very good reputation, so I'd say it's one of your safest options for sure. Where abouts in the country are you? |

I had a tuning box for a little while on my F30 330e and where I found it most helpful was when I had no charge left, and still felt I had a fair bit of performance to use. Not sure I felt that it was all that much quicker in terms of total power for maximal performance.
I decided against it for my G20, as it already seemed sufficient in sports mode, and it was a company car after all. Besides I had other cars for more spirited drives. I have a friend with a 740e and he got it remapped, and didn't like it, as was less smooth, so returned it to stock. Despite that it's still been flagged as having been remapped and his engine warranty has gone. I do think it's worth bearing in mind as the cars are now more complex, so more likely to go wrong, amd potentially more expensive when it happens. There's a reason hybrid warranties cost more.
