Auto activate heated seats

Is it possible to code automatic seat heating below the set temperature? I've had this feature before but it's gone. I guess when my subscription expired, which I am not going to pay, because I think it is a extortion.

Setting in IDrive is possible. Not possible to use remote app functions without paying subscription.

Is that also possible for the passenger seat? Can't find anything in the settings. Maybe through coding?

same here. Just noticed as it is getting colder, and my apps subscription expired earlier in the year. This is no longer an option in my I drive!

Subscriptions? I've never subscribed to anything and my car has this feature - still works.

It was my understanding (could be wrong) that the subscriptions were a way to get features that were not paid for in the build.

As one example: if you buy a car and pay for the heated seats option, they will work without paying a monthly subscription. However, if you buy a car without paying for that option, then you can subscribe to a monthly bill to get the feature on a pay-as-you-go. Also, the monthly plan allows you to see if you enjoy it before committing. In the article I read, BMW also said you could always just pay a lump sum for to add the option if you prefer instead of paying as you go.

If the above is true, I think it's a nice plan bc it gives used car buyers the chance to add things that the original purchaser might not have cared for. It's supposed to work for anything that is added via software.

If anyone knows of a situation where they paid upfront for a feature (XYZ heated seats $1200) or something like that and then later were told they would lose that feature unless they started paying monthly to keep it, then BMW is gouging. But asking customers to pay for nice features is not gouging.

...
Depending on the packages that you included, most of the extra "services" are pre-paid for about 3 years. (That includes the automatic activation of seat and steering wheel heating, since BMW has been "smart" and impemented that as an addon "app".
But I also read about the intention to make more "hardware features" subscription based.

When I say "software" I meant things that could be coded on/off (no physical components or wiring required - or at least all of the components and wiring done in advance).

I read a few articles from news sources that made me immediately angry.

Then I read a response from BMW that explained that nothing is being double billed. You don't pay for it at time of purchase and then have to keep paying monthly to keep it.

The end result gives people the opportunity to try before you buy, to pay for a while and then decide they no longer want it, and to still make a single payment and get the feature forever. Also, a better chance for future owners to add things that weren't originally purchased. I really want driving assistant pro and only have the regular one. I can't add it bc the wiring harness would have to be replaced. In the future, they'll add all the required bits to all the cars and then let people who want it pay for it. People who don't care about it can pay less and it will be disabled.

I can't find these codes in any module in demo mode. I haven't bought the full version for free yet, have these cheats been removed in the latest version?

Hi
You didn't find this coding?
You should use Expert Mode, not Demo!

There is also an expert in demo mode. But they're not there. Unless the demo doesn't have everything that the full version has. But I don't think so.

I have this feature too but it doesn't activate passenger seat. Not even with the remote engine start. Does anyone know how to code passenger seat to turn on with set degree, and/or remote engine start?

BMW can now push changes remotely so not unexpected to see functions lost or gained based on subscription status.

Think it depends on the model. My g20 only has it for driver seat, but the x3 has it for both driver and passenger.

Not sure if passenger can be coded on the g20.
