Active Autowerke uses EPA-approved GESI cats, MST does not disclose which cats they use. In terms of reliability, both claim no check engine light but active autwerke has been used for years longer and is currently the most proven solution.

Update: I had the prototype installed and everything was great for about 3 months, then I started getting codes. After some delay in response from MST, they sent me a production model. I installed this new DP and again the CELs went away for a couple of months. About a month ago, I got another CEL from this DP. Since then I have cleared around 3 CELs, all related to LAMBDA rear O2 sensor. There are about 3 different codes that I have seen thrown.
For the near future I'm going to leave it alone and clear codes with my JB4, but longer term I will be replacing it with the AA. The whole point is to have a DP that doesn't throw codes, and this one just doesn't fit the bill. I'm not sure what happens over time, but it's only good for no codes for about 3 months. Incidentally, I'll have one of these for sale on the cheap for someone that doesn't care if they need to clear a CEL every now and again. |

Have they resolved the issues with these yet? I’ve got a Pure900 on order and when I install it, I would like to move back to a catted downpipe because I’ve grown tired of the smell and rasp of being catless. I’ve considered the AA one but the GESi cat model that they use is only rated for 850hp and I don’t wanna use it if I’ll be at the upper end of what it’s rated for. MST claims a whopping 1000+ rating but I’m curious to see if they’ve got all the kinks worked out by now.
