Never seen this, wonder if they where higher than normal kerbs?

Had a fiddle, with it earlier - the 'too close to kerb' warning came on when Parking Plus was manually engaged via the button next to the gear selector - and I wasn't using the automatic parking function.

I have the Park Assist Plus on mine, don't know if the kerb proximity thing is part of the upgraded system? Can't see any trace of it in the manual.

Speed limiter

Another new discovery today.......if you press and release the speed limiter button quickly you have to press 'set' to engage a new speed limit when the limit changes.

However, if you press and hold down the button the functionality appears in HUD with a small green tick......release the button and.....the speed limit that the system locks on to changes automatically when moving into a new speed limit.

Hope that makes sense. Which is more than the manual does on this subject. Who writes this stuff?

I have Driver Assist and wonder if it is part of that functionality? Also there are number of settings in the menu that may be part of this enhanced functionality but, as I said, the manual is as clear as mud on this.

A nice touch is the response to 'hi bmw' when you ask her out to dinner.

I learned that though my car has a sunroof, the Personal Assistant thinks it doesn't....say "Hi BMW, please open the sunroof" and she says "Sorry the vehicle is not equipped with this feature"

You can’t heat the rear seats too via hey bmw. Says something similar even though my car has rear seat heaters.

I'm positive telling the car your cold turns on the front seat heating.

Front seat heating yes. Hey BMW can turn on driver and front passenger seat heating. It does not turn on rear seat heating.

Rear seat heating is not an option in the UK.

I know, I probably would have went for a car that had it even though it'd be a very rare occasion I'd experience it, Wee one would have loved it however.

All my cars have rear seat heating since I have a lot of family visiting often and in the winter, it is absolutely necessary. For example, yesterday it went down to -4F and the seats were ice cold. I can’t imagine not having heated seats at the back too in those conditions.

And it’s surprising that UK doesn’t get rear heated seats since it does get sufficiently cold there to warrant the need.

As I've mentioned elsewhere I think it's to do with low uptake on the option on the F30. We almost bought an F30 330d last year & during the course of my keeping an eye on the market I only came across two F30's across the model range that had that option.

I had an unwelcome discovery last week... Has anyone else pressed the fuel flap door latch mechanism whilst filling up?

Turns out it's an absolute pain in the arse! You need to manually release the mechanism with a cord hidden in the boot to be able to close it again!

Sorry, which button do you need to press and hold? The centre, Cruise control button, or the LIM button? I'll dig into the iDrive settings, but it may be that that functionality is equipment level specific.

While on the M25 today I had Driver Assist on and the speed adjusted automatically to 'smart motorway' speed limits i.e. There was a temporary reduction to 50mph at Heathrow and the car adjusted to it automatically.

Impressive.

Yes it is hit and miss wether it notices them, I regularly frequent the m25 and the old orange ones dont register but the ones that look like speed signs do, sometimes...
