Why? Do you need one longer than the one included with the car?

I ordered a new 330e two weeks ago. This thread has helped me in my choice
I must say I am amazed at how efficient the car also seems to handle longer distances. Two times a week I need to do a return trip of a total of 200km (125 miles) with about 70% being highway traffic. Looking at most of the posts here it seems that even then, there is a lot of efficiency to be gained with the 330e and that I don't expect to be disappointed in my purchase as long as I make sure to charge each time. |

I came back from Galway yesterday. The car had no charge whatsoever. It was a trip of 300kms. The car generated 60kms of electric travel and I got 44mpg.
On the way down with a full charge before leaving I got 52 mpg and 82 kms of electric travel. Pleased overall but surprised that a full charge only made a 22km difference in terms of electric travel. |

Up and down the m50 and some local driving in electric individual.
I found that if traffic is moving at 80-90 kmph the range is much better than at 100 or over. I like it how when you're close to home it detects that and even if the battery is drained will still allow you to use it at low speeds (and it even says that on the energy flow menu) I wonder if the navigation has to be on for it to work (it was in my case) |

Yes I noticed that when you have the satnav set, it'll still let you go fully electric when closer to home even if the range says 0 elec miles left. I'm not sure how long this unofficial range actually is though? |

Does anyone know if the 330e digital-dash has options for:
1. MPG from start of journey/day (short term) 2. Long term MPG This seems to be quite common. I have it in my A4 and also had it in my A-class before that? When I was in my test drive model it only seemed to have the option for long-term MPG and when you reset it, it then showed as 'individual'. Using the iDrive I think you can filter by day. |

* Since refuel * Since charging * Since trip start (not sure when it reset, probably after a few hours of inactivity) * Since ever * Custom with a custom reset The last one that you check in the infotainment display is the one shown in the digital cluster |

When you go into the trip information in the iDrive is the one that is shown in the cluster. If you check the custom it shows the custom. If you check the "Since refuel" it shows that in the instrument cluster. It will show whichever you want

In electric individual you can set the efficiency to 100% by optimizing/lowering the lights/seat heating power/maybe a few other things (not sure what exactly it changes since I can't see a difference between the modes)
The only way to fully maximize battery only driving, allegedly. |

It's funny that many tries to use a hybrid car as a full EV car... That's missing the point of what hybrid cars does best : combine both engine type on their most efficient range. I think this truely shines if you let the car do the job for you instead of trying to "know better" than the engineer building the car. Of course sometimes and some scenarios you mmight be able to get away using only the electric motor and why not, but for the most case the car wasn't built for that, the electric power is mostly to overcome the shortcomings of ICE in city traffic (stop and go consumption), that's where you'll have huge gains in consumptions whe nthe electric engine will lift off the car from stop and ICE take over (or not) in traffic jams.

Well I've been doing about 80-90% of my driving in electric only, and many people will too as long as their commute is within the car's range and ICE only for outside the city driving.
Just wish they would offer some sort of add-on battery pack since I don't care about the trunk space anyway. Ignoring the fact that will mess with the car's engineering design ofc Last edited by sd_dracula; 02-16-2020 at 08:22 AM.. |

Hello guys. Are you able to see last trips (or even... all!) info on bmw connected drive app or web? At the app i have no option and at the web last trip appears empty.
I thought it was an issue with my car but I don’t know of anyone able to see it, is anyone able to see that on your 330e? Thank you! |

The app is useless form that point of view but somehow it worked just fine when I had my F30.
Maybe we get an update in 2025 for it, along with Spotify and a real weather app Last edited by sd_dracula; 02-16-2020 at 11:13 AM.. |
