I use frequently and find it will hold bottle for about 2 - 3 weeks if it is no more than half full. After it does lose a bit but still quite drinkable.
I prefer aged Cabernet/Bordeaux, Burgundy and most Italian varietals. I have well over 75 cases of wine. Some stored in locker, others in wine fridges.
The rest in several interior closets.

They are made from Nebbiolo which usually doesnt make for heavy wines. Usually medium bodied with good acidity to cut through the rich dishes.( a lot of French/Swiss influence.

My recommendation for a great every day table wine is the Olema Pinot Noir, best $20 bottle you can find.

nothing more fun than using a shopping cart in a liquor store...
Good to get some feedback on Olema, Total Wine has been pimping these HARD. Which is usually a sign for me not to buy it

I tried the Honig because of this thread. Didnt like it. Have to try the Nickel & Nickel but hate experimenting on a $100 bottle.

Had a 2014 Jason Stephens Cabernet tonight that was very good for sub $20. Local winery (Santa Clara/Gilroy) so I’m not sure how widely they are distributed, but worth picking up if you see it. Another Costco wine...

Opened a bottle of 2017 Lewis Cellars cabernet. I was pleasantly surprised. There was one vintage (can’t remember which) that was an absolute fruit bomb but this was much more balanced.

I think I enjoy seeing the granite countertops in this thread almost as much as I enjoy the wine suggestions.

Unfortunately our’s is cracking near the sink and needs to be replaced, which is leading to a discussion about remodeling the kitchen. Started as small crack now a mess after 2 attempted repairs. Not loving granite much.

I should have taken a picture of the nice piece of quartz that runs through lol. Will save that for my next wine pic.

I do always love to see what people have style wise.

That sucks. I thought granite was hard to damage. You know what's going to happen once you open the replace the granite door, right? Well, we might as well do X being we're already doing Y. It doesn't stop. Good luck.

As I understand it, back when we had this granite installed in 2002, installers used metal rods to support some sections (for example around sink cut outs). Those start to rust after a while and that creates a crack in the granite. Once there is a crack and some water gets in, its a free for all. I also understand this is not uncommon, especially on 2cm thick granite, and the industry no longer uses those metal roads. Weve had it repaired twice and it looked good for a week before getting worse both times. We also want a new sink but cant because granite is too fragile around the sink right now.

So our options are to replace the entire section of counter (to make sure the section matches, but may not entirely match the rest of the counters because different slab) and the sink for $2K - $3K or all the counters, sink and backsplash (since we would install 3cm counters now) for $6K - $7K+. But spending $6K - $7K now means wed probably never do the cabinets unless we got custom cabinets that enabled us to re-use the counters. We looked into refinishing cabinets and not really worth the money vs. getting new and getting new cabinets is $20k+. I kinda gravitate towards the $2K - $3K option, while my wife wants to redo the kitchen, salvaging only appliances. So stalemate. I filled the visible crack with silicone to buy more time (before I eventually give in I guess).

It's a rabbit hole. Do you really need new cabinets? If you replace all the counters, sink and backsplash with something different, it will be LIKE a new kitchen. But then again, a happy wife = happy life. Tough call.
