The recent democratic hopefuls list:

Former Vice President Joe Biden: 33%
Sen. Bernie Sanders: 13%
Sen. Kamala Harris: 9%
Sen. Elizabeth Warren: 8%
Sen. Cory Booker: 5%
Former Secretary of State John Kerry: 5%
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg: 4%
Rep. Beto O'Rourke: 4%
Former Attorney General Eric Holder: 3%
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti: 2%
Attorney Michael Avenatti: 1%
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: 1%
Sen. Amy Klobuchar: 1%
Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick: 1%

A wild guess what the Republican list looks like:

Donald Trump: 92%

Imo, this is a yuuuuge problem for Democrats. Scattered about tugging in all directions and no message. 'No Trump' isn't going to cut it. Look at the dems list. Yikes.
Warren may be getting told what she did was a smooth move. I think it was a self inflicted head shot.

The rational dem strategists know they've got a serious problem with identity. Bernie blew his shot, imo, although he might be giggling at Warren's stunt. As I said months ago, Biden is the only one I see with a chance. Ride the Obama ties.

And going out on the limb a bit, I don't see the house flip as such a done deal as many are saying. I'll wait on first of November chatter and pass on the predictions of today.

The future of the 2020 landscape will be laid out in a few weeks.

Wonder no more.

...The Herald has twice quoted Charles Fried, the head of the Harvard appointing committee that recommended Warren for her position in 1995, saying that the Democratic candidate’s heritage didn’t come up during the course of her hiring. “It simply played no role in the appointments process,” he said. “It was not mentioned and I didn’t mention it to the faculty.”

The Herald later quoted Fried, a former U.S. Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan, saying, “I can state categorically that the subject of her Native American ancestry never once was mentioned.”

Snopes is a liberal organization, it's like using a yahoo article that used the Hillary funded dossier as a source to corroborate Russian collusion.

Those are quotes from the Boston Herald. Direct quotes from the guy who headed the appointment committee.

Harvard Law professor Charles Fried, a former U.S. Solicitor General who served under Ronald Reagan, sat on the appointing committee that recommended Warren for hire in 1995. He said he didn’t recall her Native American heritage ever coming up during the hiring process.

“It simply played no role in the appointments process. It was not mentioned and I didn’t mention it to the faculty,” he said.

3 of my grandparents came thru Ellis Island, embarked from Ireland. The last came thru after leaving Germany. So one would think I could claim I'm 75% Irish, and 25% German.

And yet, my DNA analysis showed all kinds of mutt-mixing from all over Europe, because the mitochondria were mixed up WAY before my grandparents, in the ongoing pillaging of the European countryside. Heck, I even have some Asian and African mixed in there, but don't recall there was anything native to North America.

1/1024, isn't that 0000000000000001 in binary?

With their margin of error, it could be as high as 1/32 or 1/64, if I read correctly.

IIRC from my son's college funding applications, 1/64 is a magic number!

Warren's whole narrative makes sense to me...

We always joked in my family about my mother's native heritage. She is French Canadian from the Timmins area. We certainly have plenty of first cousins with native blood, and she always had a good tan. But both my brother and daughter had DNA tests, and not a trace of native showed up. So the native content in her family is apparently limited to the known natives two of her her siblings married.

Both my brother and daughter showed a trace of Iberian, which makes sense as my maternal grandfather's family emigrated from nearby Marseilles. This may account for the swarthy look that predominates in her family. At any rate, it appears that Warren's family narrative has a slim basis in reality, whereas mine does not. I was always a little confused about being appointed a CEO, and now must apologize to those I hoodwinked into thinking I was a natural born chief.

Exactly right, as I said earlier in the thread:

I'll know when I get my DNA results back, but I won't be at all surprised if it's not. However, I had/have no reason to doubt my parent's accounting simply out of hand. Neither did Warren. Right?...

Gotta love how Warren portrays her Grandparents on her dad's side as racist bc they didn't want her dad to marry her Mom who was 1/524th Cherokee.

It could be anything under the sun.

Fried, as I mentioned earlier, served as the Solicitor General under Reagan and is a registered Republican. He even heads the Harvard chapter of the Federalist Society. How do his politics play in to this scenario?
