Please put me in contact with your friend. I have a bridge to sell to him

It takes a special kind of person to believe any of the horseshit that comes out of Elon's mouth. Whatever he says, it'll take a couple years to become reality, it will cost a different amount and it may be built in a tent outdoors

Exactly!!!!
All mine M3/4 were MT and I love it.

I bought F90 M5 which doesn't look as good or sound good and I spend 30K on aftermarket parts to make that beast more enjoyable and end up selling because I am just a hardcore M3 MT guy.
And I used to track them for many years

I know he paid 50K deposit. Lol

I test drove the P100D ( just to see what he is talking about ) and I love the power but it's not for me no MT no car for me.

I am ok to have AT car for family dough.

Just read that the 2020 midengine Vette will be DCT only. Not that a corvette transmission is a great one. One definitely all kinds of coolers with the c6, c7 seemed better.

Clearly it was due to packaging of the driveline and an increase in hp and torque. They ended up designing a DCT for the car allegedly because nothing they could find available was good enough..

Agree there will be plenty of MT buyers .

Last I heard the MT was still up in the air. Did Chevy confirm no MT now?

Get your facts right mate....
It isn’t even close to 5k€ here in Belgium

The gear selector is the same for both DCT and automatic M cars, at least the current generation. My boss's automatic X5M has the same selector as my DCT M3.

This bit is interesting. Talking about a "Sound" button in the center console.

The "Sound" button allows you to make the car quieter. Why not make it louder? I wonder if you can code the car to do the opposite and open the exhaust flaps when you press that button instead?

I have got my facts very straight, pal.

The configurator on the Belgian BMW website specifies CO2 output for a manual M4 at 227g/km.

Using that value to fill out the tax simulator (https://belastingen.fenb.be/ui/public/vkb/simulatie) gets me the following results:
  • Yearly tax: €976.97
  • BIV: €6080.76

The DCT version is specified at 213g/km, which leads to the following results:
  • Yearly tax: €941.74
  • BIV: €4360.10

I’ll agree that the DCT is considerably cheaper, but it’s still well north of your claimed €3k figure.

So unless you’re telling me the tax simulator is completely and utterly wrong, I think perhaps you should get your facts straight instead before pointing fingers at others who did their research...

So does it say what factory grenade will this M3/M4 engine come with this time around?

Rod bearing clearances
Spun hub
VANOS
Timing chain guide
IMS bearing failure
Bore scoring susceptibility

Should we put them on a wheel and spin it?

It isn't legal anymore in the EU for new production cars to manually control exhaust flaps - I think since 2017, maybe 2018, with the exception for facelift models. This date refers to the SOP of the model, not the actual production date of someone's car.

Not sure how it works outside the EU, but yeah, basically all cars lost the ability to open and close the flaps at the driver's will, sadly.

Is the S58 built on the standard production line at Steyr in Austria like the S55?

Just test drove a US model, and it has the button. Does it not work?

No idea in the US how it works.
Here, when you press that button, you allow the valves to open given a certain RPM. Meaning they wont always be open.
With the button deactivated the valves will be closed at all times.

Well that may be the case; how is it when you start moving?

The S55 with OPF in EU also has a cold start with valves open, closes them afterwards until 4k RPM (depends on gear but mostly 4k) on Sport +

BMW no longer publishes these documents. The information is now provided to dealership employees in online training courses.

I believe it has a 48v starter that serves as both the starter and assists the engine.
