I love it. And I disagree with anyone who says it looks like an Infiniti or Lexus, just like I disagreed with people who said the G20 looks like either of those brands. Those of you who say that seem to be focusing on one design element and not taking the whole car as it is. And the G20 looks much better in person than in pictures anyway so I expect the exact same thing to be the case with this car. I can't wait to see it live.

If the front bumper and kidney grills were redesigned, I think this design would be a home run

Iím one of the few that actually likes this. Although I feel like if they just got rid of the connecting bar between the grills like the next concept this would look much more modern and cohesive with the design. Maybe someone can photoshop it?

I like it, also like the new landrover Defender and VW ID.3. Few months back I though a Tesla Model 3 was the smart buy, however these new German and British cars are so good looking.

The production version could very well be closer to the CSL homage.

Itís just not doing it for me, of course each one of us is entitled to our opinions Ė and we should be voting with our checkbooks. The draw of the Bavarian option for me has always been the reserved aggression in the design. Iíve hated the Lexus front end, the Acura one, the Infiniti one and the Audi one ever since they all joined the bigger-is-better support group. BMW now following suit Ė and thatís not a good thing. You lead by differentiating yourself, this is just doing what everyone else is. In the name of efficiency and drag we should be getting smaller and smaller front openings Ė what is this crap?

If this is the final front thatíll be grafted on the G80, I really donít think I can pull the trigger on one. But, that means Iíll be holding onto my F80, which Iíve been very happy with so far Ė not a bad thing overall.

Will be a very sad day if they do offer 450+ hp with a manual and selectable AWD Ė thatís what Iíve been hoping for to hit market most of my driving lifetime. Unfortunately, the losing proposition is the look. For me, if spending this kind of money; EVERY time I park the car I need to look back it with admiration. If this front end on an M3 were in my garage, Iíd sure look back each time, but it wouldnít be with joy. Really sad to say it, but thatís the irrational part that gets me to break out my credit score, otherwise weíd all be content in Camryís.

Iíll say they did good at making me like the G80 photoshops much more Ė the grill design on those looks so much better than this does. Itís like false positives here, somehow now I like the photoshops Ė but only because this concept front end has shit the bed so hard. This thing is a German knock-off of whatever the hell Infiniti now calls the G coupe, especially in profile. The rear is now more Infiniti than Lexus Ė somehow they got us to stop talking about the Lexus-lite rear, but not in the right way. Someone else here said it and theyíre right, this is actually worse than the renderings were.

What really baffles me is how the idea on the Concept Hommage has failed so badly in this implementation Ė If BMW hit the market with the concept homage as the next M4, theyíd have a buyer in me, and Iíve never purchased a coupe.

Iíll be in the market for a new toy somewhere between the 2021 and 2022 model years Ė will be something like a 40th birthday gift to myself at that time. Maybe F90 is the right call for me for that milestone, Iím just not sure that I want something that big.

Iím feeling that it might be time for me to begin the clean 997.2 GT3 search to get my kicks as the next purchase. Or the C8 Ė but me bringing home a Corvette will likely lead to disfunction in the household.

Yes, putting out a very controversial, out of character, and polarizing update to a vehicle with a cult following will lend itself to commentary disliking the change. Surprise?

Meanwhile Audi is absolutely killing it with their designs. The new 2020 RS7 is straight fire! And their upcoming RS7 Performance is said to feature electric motor tech and will have more power than probably the Comp F90 M5. But it's like Audi knows exactly how to make their cars more beautiful. Their grilles seem to be getting smaller and more subtle.

Honestly BMW kind of lost me when they decided to re-use the same engine from one M5 into a next generation M5. Add to that the fact that pretty much all BMW's, M cars included, only come with a ZF8 now. I know the G80 and G82 will come with a 6MT, but I think that will be that car's last saving grace.

Yeah... not really feeling it... the overall design has lost its BMW roots. It doesnít look like a BMW anymore. Whatís up with the oversized grill obsession?

Yeah, no thanks. Hopefully the M3 doesn't duplicate this front end

I personally feel it would look much more palatable if it were more like the iNext grille without the middle bar... This could be an easy aftermarket fix.

I applaud the BMW designers for taking risks. The best part of it all: If you don't like it, don't buy one.
Have you seen a Porsche lately?
People either love the Porsche design or hate it/are indifferent to it. There is no middle ground, hence the reason they only sell about 50,000 vehicles here in the U.S. each year. Their core enthusiast fan base are just as whiny as the BMW set, deriding every new design before even seeing it in person on the street.

Remember that BMW concepts are very dramatic by nature. It's intentional.

The production version will not be anwyhere near as aggressive.

I fear that the grills are here to stay. Same for the M3/M4. The get the front 4 series fascia, so more ugliness across the line. SMH.

Looks like a diesel truck grill, not a sport sedan.

It will. The M3/M4 share the 4 series front fascia.

"The vertically oriented grille fits seamlessly into both the proportions of the front end and BMW’s illustrious past."

But...does it? I mean it physically fits, I'll give them that.

Telling the truth I do like it.
It looks aggressive/sleek and all of us will get used to "kidneys"
