Badass Beautiful
This concept is so badass beautiful, if it were a woman I'd marry her. If the production car is close enough to the concept, it's my next.

I also showed front end pics of the concept 4 to my wife. She's no petrol head but she appreciates good design. She laughed and then said, "Who the f*** is going to buy one of those?". Nuff said.

Bangle wasn't on the e65 design team he was BMWs global design director at that time, he set the design direction (years before) others did the work and Hooydonk was in charge of the team designing that car. You seem upset about this thread and the lack of love for the concept, perhaps you should go have a lie down.

design
I know a lot of people in the past since I can remember in the 90's has always had negative things to say about the next generation but I just dont kike this design period
We will only know how well buyers like this when it goes on sale and sale numbers are published. I have looked on different BMW dealer websites, even the M340i are not flying off the lots with some people even getting huge discounts based on post on this forum, which is unusual for the 1st model year. See link below https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1614549 In addition a fully loaded m340i reaching MSRP around $70k, one use to be able to buy an e92 m3 of f82 m4 for that amount of money not so long ago. I think the new 330i and M340i looks good, very good. If the new 4-series would just be a coupe model of the M340i, that would be a popular car IMO Here is an article on bmwblog that states the g80 M3 will also get larger kidney grills more like the 4-series than currently on the 330i/m340i. See link below https://www.bmwblog.com/2019/08/07/u...kidney-grille/ Next question would be, how much a fully loaded 4-series will cost |

Radical design may be what BWM needs. Lexus has done it for years and despite their big ugly grills is leading all luxury makers in sales.

After spending hours reading posts and looking at numerous grilles with a magnifying glass this is my analysis. The new 4 series is going to look like the renderings posted here on August 23rd. The 4 series concept was to scare us so bad that when the vehicle, as show in the renderings, comes out we will embrace it because it does not have the horrendous grille of the concept.

So BMW shows us the most heinous rosanne-in-ass-chaps design they can come up with, but then backs off slightly with the final ... ... and so your point is we'll buy it because it won't feel so much like excellent analysis! |

The problem with is the entire car has to exude a muscular stance to accommodate the prominent grill. The F32 was a classy, streamlined coupe, but now it's as if it's suddenly trying to look like American muscle. That hood looks like it should be housing a big, roaring v8, not a refined, gentlemanly I6 - and certainly not a 4 cylinder. I guess I'm trying to say, the style is growing on me, but it seems like that grill would be more at home on a redesigned Dodge Challenger or something. To me it's not the styling itself, it's more the context.

That's impossible.
In other news, hey BMW, here's how you do a BigBuckyGrille right - notice the actually thoughtful, integrated design lines - The Maybach Exelero: |
