Having it be black greatly increases the appeal for me. It's more the big, chrome-bordered, in-your-face version on the concept that seems out of place, not so much the size.

I have to admit that I'm actually beginning to like the larger sized G22/G23 grill. A coupe of days ago I saw a current gen M4 in the local Lowes parking lot and while a great looking car, the grills looked undersized for the car. Similarly, I see how dated prior gen Audi A4s look because of their smaller grills vs how much better the larger grill looks on current gen A4s & S5s.

Yes, I feel the same way. I looked at my ///M4 Monday morning and felt the same way about the front end. Still attractive, but the grilles do look undersized.

When I see some of the older BMWs, circa e90 and prior, I think the grilles look small now, but I think there is definitely a point of diminishing returns on them getting larger.

If they could have used the m340i styling and exhaust for the m440i Also the new M3 and M4, I would like it better. Like I said, feedback from the forums and sales will determine how well received.

I with the 4-series concept was a clone of the m340i and I would buy m440i.

Time will tell

Unfortunately, even if people jump ship to a different brand, you can't get away from big grilles with any of the car companies these days. I'd never buy a Lexus because of those hideous grills. Mercedes still looks nice though.

I'm not so sure about the comparison, though. I don't think he ever put a grille that big on a car.

My personal favorite Barris Kustom was the ZZR from Out of Sight, a crappy mashup of beach party and spy movies that used to show late at night when I was a kid.

Stopped at the BMW Welt building in Munich today and saw the concept 4 in person. I have to admit that the grille is not as repulsive and my guess is it will grow on people real fast. The car looks sharp and sporty, I can imagine a black one with extended shadow line including the black grille will go a long way...here are some photos. Cheers!

I wish G20 had this front end, so that I wouldn’t have to wait for G26.
