Sideview mirror folding issues
The passenger side mirror on my G20 was slightly out of alignment. I adjusted it and locked both mirrors in place with the passenger's side pointing downward in reverse.
A little later, as I was driving, that mirror suddenly folded inward. I hit nothing to cause it and I have no idea why it happened. The driver's side mirror was unaffected. Pressing the button to the left of the mirror adjustments causing the side mirrors to open and close did nothing. I got out of the car and manually pushed the mirror open. I then tried to fold both mirrors in and out by pushing the button again and they both worked perfectly. I had the same problem on on my 2012 F30. It only happened once. I did the same procedure to overcome it and it never happened again. Any thoughts? |

I never turn this feature on. It is completely unnecessary to cause wear and tear on these mirrors every time you lock and unlock.
I just fold them in when it is really needed to avoid something like this from happening. Also, after hearing the noises they make while unfolding during freezing temperatures, no thanks!

It's like saying you don't want to lock the car to save wear and tear on the locking mechanism. |

Had a F10 for 6 years. Folding mirrors used every day (parking spaces in the U.K. aren’t as generous as in the U.S.) never had an issue and will continue to use in my G20.
Sorry your mirror has stopped working hope the dealer finds it is a simple fix.

I do think they should have it on by default rather than waiting for people to discover it. It is on by default on the x5. Maybe they figure because it is bigger people might want to fold their mirrors. Also they should have a physical sync button for the AC. If the temp on front or rear passenger is adjusted it automatically unsyncs so it should be easier to sync back. Can this be programmed to the number button to turn back on sync?

If everything checks out well it'll be covered under warranty regardless so just a matter of taking it in. |

Good thing. I like when things get fixed for free or when anything is free. My last service cost $0, I was thinking of taking a pic of the receipt and posting on here. Got a free loaner out if it too!
