That's not great. No way should it take that long.

Mine is booked in for tomorrow and the service manager said the last batch hasn't taken as long and they were back in a few weeks rather than 6 weeks so guessing they must have sped up the checks.

After such a long wait to get booked in for the recall, typical that we had a decent dump of snow! Made it ok though...

I got a call after dropping mine off to say it has been charged 48 times.... So now has to go off which is a shame.

Sorry to hear. On a different subject, how does the refinement of the 5 compare? Back in the F10/F30 days there was a gulf between them in quality but the G20/G30 are supposed to be much more aligned. I hated the lack of refinement in my F31 which made me hate the car which was great in other respects.

Only been out on a short run for work and its nice. Diesel lump pulls well. Definitely feels softer and bigger than my 3. The steering wheel is noticeably thinner and the seats less supportive. It's an SE though so this makes sense.

There's less equipment than mine as well - no map display in the main clocks area, no folding mirrors, and no CarPlay. Funny the little things you get used to. Tried making a call from the iDrive and much harder than CarPlay.

It does feel big though, the boot is massive. Not sure it feels any more premium than the 3, maybe a touch. The big gear selector seems odd now compared to the 3.

I just got mine back from the dealer today. Was away for just over 4 weeks. They believe the battery was replaced but tbh they were pretty vague about what was done to fix the car.
I had a 520d estate as a loaner car. Very spacious but not the snappy performance from the 330e and I missed all my gizmos.
Very happy to have the 330e back. Let's hope that the teething problems are over.
Also I'm still waiting for full compensation payments, having to remind BMW every week, they blame the dealer, dealer pretends to have no knowledge of being paid. Round and round we go!

I had the first 2 payments and now they are going slow. Chased a couple of times. I'll be due another next week.

Mine came back with the 11/2020.45 software update, which will be a dealer visit only install to my knowledge. It's a slight positive beyond the obvious rejoice of plugging in again 🤷🏻*♂️ Especially when I read some very recently delivered UK owners are just updating cars to 7/2020.30 🙈

Are you sure it's been taken by BMW and not some thieves?!

I think they all go to Immingham.

Did it stay in a quarantine hotel 😭

Mine went from the dealer (in Bradford) to a motorway services on the M62 overnight, then to BMW Hull, and eventually to Immingham.

Not that I was tracking it or anything 🙈

Happy to report it came back with its memory intact, with the seats, radio stations etc all as they were (my SA told me they would all be wiped) 🤷🏻*♂️

I picked mine up from the recall on Friday.

Few things to note:

It was filthy and covered in grime that wasn't easy to remove even with snow foam so I'm glad I had asked them not to wash it as gave it a proper bath at the weekend.

The range after my second charge this weekend was briefly showing 27 miles despite being under zero degrees overnight.

Charge time is much better now it seems to charge at 10amps using the 3 pin charger.

A nice extra touch was a hamper from BMW UK brought out whilst I swapped my things over. Has anyone got one of these?

The only issue is the recall message is still showing when I get in the car - does this need to be reset by the dealer or will it disappear?

Mine is on it's way back from Immingham, left yesterday so hopefully back at dealers today, what did you get in your hamper?

Biscuits, chocs, chutneys, crisps. No wine or cheese

But a nice touch though.

Nice touch, we didn't get anything like that so assume that must be a dealer thing.

The recall message disappeared off my app before the car left Immingham, I would definitely raise it with the dealer. I assume they can do all that sort of thing remotely.

Check your car carefully when you get it back. I have M-Performance Carbon splitters and one of them has caught a kerb on its journeys. I did raise it with dealer on collection, but have left it for another day as its really minor and I'll no doubt catch it myself at some point and need another one. Driver's Side passenger door looks to have also picked up a couple of scratches, which I didn't notice at the time so can't prove. Ironically, that window was open for the full duration of the car's visit so I don't know if that might have something to do with them.

Charge mileage, I've barely driven the car since getting back and everything I've done has been short journeys. At the moment, the charge indicator never gets above 18 miles, but I suspect that's the combination of short trips and the cold weather. Hopefully it will improve.

One thing has improved though, as Jim has said, is that the car no longer drops down to 6amp randomly now when charging. I assume that's because of the software update and the 3-pin new charger unit.

It has disappeared from the app but I'm still getting it on the car which seems odd hence asking.

I can also confirm that my recall message had disappeared from the app before the car left Immingham, and was no longer showing when the car was picked up.

4+ weeks with our cars and they can't even clear the fault message it went for, and good to see the dealer noticed it when putting in your present 🙈

It's not like they have to move the car from the transporter. Unbelievable.

The hamper was handed to me but they did drive the car into the indoor pickup bay so it's not like anyone hasn't driven it. Hopefully can be sorted remotely.

Sorry Jim, I assumed that when it disappeared from the app it went from the car too. My car came back without the message on screen too.
