That paint on the M3/M4 would be next level IMO.
Still, nice update on the base cars. Front looks way better and not far off the 5 series.

The whole notion of certain things should only be reserved for pure M cars is silly. The only thing that should be reserved for M cars is the unique fender trim and anything that includes the M logo that is part of the actual part. Everything is just another variation of a body part anyone can produce. |

Honest question why would you even want this with a carbon fiber roof? If you're worried about performance, bmw makes full fat m cars. The m-lite in my eyes are very fast comfortable cruisers. I'd take a sunroof over the cf roof

Meh. I can't get over that the styling is less aggressive. I actually like the old gear shifter, and I'd miss my shortcut buttons.

Some options I get. Before I could afford a M3 I would have spent $2k on the M seats for my 35i. But I still constantly see extra M badges people put on non M cars. Saw a X3 40e the other day with 3 different M badges added to its rear. Had some fun with him at stop light in my X3MC, showed him what a real M sounds like and how fast it is (all done safely) |

I am neutral, the new design is basically the same it is going to take someone in the know to tell them apart if not parked next to each other.
I really like the current design and basically feel the same way about this. I wouldn't upgrade just for the exterior design but it wouldn't stop me either if I was due for an upgrade |

My 2018 M2 was the first time I nixed it (to gain an extra inch of headroom, I'm 6'2"). I thought I'd feel claustrophobic and trapped but I barely missed it or noticed it was gone. Haven't had one since. A panorama glass roof like on the wife's Tesla might be a worthy alternative to both the sunroof and the carbon fiber roof. But I'd place things in this order... 1. Panorama Glass Roof (more headspace, added weight, aesthetically pleasing from inside and out) 2. Carbon Fiber Roof (more headspace, less weight, aesthetically pleasing from outside) 3. Nothing (extra inch of headspace, less weight) 4. Sunroof (less headspace, added weight) Yes, even on a M3/M5 Last edited by OSee; 05-23-2022 at 12:46 PM.. |

One more thing to dislike about the LCI. The front flashers now are incorporated into the outer coronas/DRLs, just like every other brand. One thing I’ve always liked and appreciated about the way BMW did that design was keeping the flashers separate from the coronas.

Seriously! I had enough of this real M BULLSH1T!
If you’re defined by a badge then you’re pretty much a waste of skin taking up my O2! The concept of ///M has nothing to do with a damn badge! Please if you’re that disgruntled, go buy a Porsche The badge on my M340 came from the factory AND THE M DIVISION HAD SOME INPUT! it’s more than aesthetics! Prior to this I had an F82, and following this I’ll probably get another M or finally make the move to a 911. To the poster before me, do you want a gold star? In all honesty the general population can give 2 sh1ts about a badge or carbon fibre roof.. if that’s what keeps you up at night , consider yourself blessed with first world problems! I can’t wait for your heads to explode when the m performance line get the quad exhaust setup!! Last edited by BigSky702; 05-23-2022 at 01:57 PM.. |
