If I offered my tune, I would have certainly done that.

Numerous companies offer their warranty, charge triple the price, and are making a fortune doing so.

Which companies offer a warranty? Other than Dinan

Those make sense but the tunes we are talking about in this thread don't offer a warranty, hence my answers and my beliefs and ultimately it's just my opinion

Hi Mindfusion
Sorry for the delayed response - I'll answer your question two ways.

Objective (just the facts):
No after about 20k of abuse (AutoX with my Son at BCCA events, Canyon Runs with local clubs etc..) the car continues to purr like a kitten and has delivered 100% reliable service.

Subjective (my opinion, where my head is at, feel free to disregard):
At 48 I am risk adverse when it comes to things such as tunes and my cars however that is balanced by the fact that after owning many many modified cars I think I have a pretty good handle on things. That said, I am comfortable with my decision when it comes to MP/Alex. And look forward to transferring my 340 tune to my M340 when it arrives :-)

Hope this helps a bit

Thanks for the reply and it does help. The consensus I'm seeing is that while there is a risk, it's generally minimal if you select good vendors and go with tried and tested tuned. And it seems like sticking to something like stage 1 may help keep the risk on the lower end. Correct me if I'm wrong on my summary.

From the Mission website, is the below still accurate? I thought complete boomod3 or MHD reflashes could be done at home via OBD2 port...

*At the current moment, vehicles updated after 11/05/2019 will ahve a latest Anti-Tuning softare and will need to have ECU shipped to us for unlock service. Further flashing will be avaible over OBD2.

If i had to pick a tune it would probably be JB4 to play it safe, but if i had to flash i would go with Mission Performance.

So this is the problem with g20, first batch of g20s produced before 11/2019 have a non restrictive DME and can be tuned via OBD2, the newer ones brick the car when you try to tune it. If you have older DME then you can just plug your obd2 and tune your car at ease (I'm jealous I'd these people because there cars are faster stock and a little louder, some even came with a 300cel downpipe, now it's 400cel)

I'm going to wait it out because this is kind of scary to me. I know they all guarantee 100% safe tunes when you ship it out, but the DME is pretty new you can never know what can happen, it's only been 5 months so we haven't given it enough time to see problems that can come up.

I was just going to say, would have figured Carbahn would at least be in the conversation. New to BMW myself, and I've been considering Carbahn (because of their warranty) and Mission Performance. I take it no one has any experience with Carbahn specific to M340i's?

It's fantastic! In typical Steve Dinan fashion. I posted here when I first got it. I need to buy a draggy and find a place to test it, for fun. I like how it feels which is what matters to me.

Dinan exhaust next, I think.

Do you have the old or new (after Nov 2019) DME?

I had an early production model then updated to the latest software after I couldn't stand my CarPlay and other glitches. Took it back and after a few days they figured it out. So yes they did tune (again) after the update. The actual dme is from the car I picked up 11 months ago so not a newer one. It's the software not the dme that matters, I think.

The other tunes I cannot talk about as I have zero experience with them.

MP (missing performance) is my choice too. See my time for my F-series
just tune and downpipe with E30 blend (2 gal E85 + 5.5 gal 93 Shell) . MP, MHD, AA, Bootmod - all are fine.

Also trying to find this out. Thinking doing BM3 but dealer is out of state so I want to know before I purchase if I have to pull ECU or not.
