Sad news indeed...RIP to the Ring Queen.
She was adored by Nurburgring fans and the BMW community and could often be found power-sliding around corners in an M5.

March 16 2021 will be remembered as a said day in the automotive world. It will be remembered as the day that we lost Sabine Schmitz, the Queen of the Nurburgring. Rest in Peace Sabine. You will be missed.

What shocking and sad news! I remember being blown away by her on that Top Gear episode many moons back when she took the ring with Clarkson in a minivan. One of the brightest stars in the motoring world.

Too soon and a big reminder that our life on this planet is finite. It’s a sharp reminder that we should hug our loved ones tighter.

This would be a good time to share your memories of Sabine.
In 2017 my partner and I stayed at Sabine's hotel, The Longhorn Saloon, in Barweiler. We were traveling around Europe and were in the area to drive some laps on the Nurburgring. Sabine was very enthusiastic for us and gave me some beginners tips about what to look out for and what NOT to do while driving the 'Ring. She was a wonderful host during our stay and always had a huge smile for us. If you've ever seen her on TV then you know what I mean. She was a joy to talk with and be around. She made our bucket list trip to the Nurburgring that much more memorable. I'll never forget that trip.

This hit me like a truck this morning. So very sad. I didn't even know she had cancer. What a delightful person she was, and now gone way too soon.

I was introduced to Sabine Schmitz while watching episodes of Top Gear when they tested the vans on the Nurburgring. I was absolutely impressed by her driving skills and lack of fear.

It is extremely sad, she is one of the best drivers right there with Michelle Mouton.
