And history can always be re-written. Tesla made history with an all electric vehicle.
So? Lexus stole the shark fin antenna and the Hofmeister kink. Is BMW not allowed to use that anymore either?

So did VW, Mercedes and everyone else and their mother. Point is, it's lazy and doesn't do anything to stand out. If heritage was such a big deal, the design cue would have been used for all of the other following BMW generations but it wasn't.

Such a shame bmw has become this. But this was predicted years ago, on the basis of what looks from the outside as a corporate culture that wants to push talented people away.

Toyota designs are predicated on offending no ones tastes. Which is why they are at the same time forgettable in every way.

Seems the same here. Think about what BMW was doing 20 years ago and then this.

Next prediction. We will see more people adding big wings, colored wheels and other similarly Toyota like things here.
Trying to be nice, but you're way off. Looks nothing like any Toyota or Lexus product. This is an evolution of F30 design.

honestly that sport line is not bad at all and is pretty damn aggressive. it's just the silly black cutouts on the front and rear that make it look weird

But those black cuts out are enough for me to stay clear of the Sport line, man those things are ugly no way around it. From the side it's just hideous.

Why did the BMW trademark line crease across the door handles disappear on the G20? It looks weird lower now, I can't get use to the pics.

The only thing that reminds me of the current IS 350 is the swoosh line on the side profile that goes up toward the back wheels.

Look again... notice they’re a repeat of the grille line... clever I think! Once you see it it looks real good (to my eyes at least)

Manual...

I believe this has been addressed.. ( hoping Scott will solidify )

6 speed clutch on the floor manual will only be a M-Class option or will the G20/G22 offer it in a lower trim ?

..Thanks Scott. I'm hopeful there will be a 2020 G22 ( at some trim ) in the USA with a floor-clutch 6MT..

Looks good overall. I like the more aggressive front end. Not sure how I feel about the partial corona led lighting strips, and the connecting kidney grills. I am so glad the parting line between the hood and front bumper no longer cuts across and above the emblem like before. Looked terrible in my opinion. Interior received a nice improvement. Rims looks bland, and sometimes cheap. The rear end is the worst part for me because it instantly reminds me of a current Lexus. The rear design is lazy compared to the front with seemingly no signature characteristics. It will surely be confused with many other cars at night, or indistinguishable.

I think the G series M3/4 will look even better than the F8x.

Dare I say it looks better than the 5 series? The proportions just suit this design language better than the larger and longer 5 series. The rear especially, where the 5 looks odd, the 3 looks handsome. I can wait to see what the G80 will
look like! Flared fenders and side vents please!

5 series looks like someone took a F30 and stretched it out a bit in Photoshop.

Really like this car... the real life images are (as always) much better than the configurator.

Hoping to get some real life images of the M340 tomorrow
