Update
After a couple of days with the update, found a couple of things not working
1. The connected App has stopped updating
2. My sunroof won’t tilt now, it’s just dead. Could it be related or has the switch gone?����

Further Update
Connected App was dead for a week but now working flawlessly.
I sorted the sunroof by resetting it.

My app was dead for two weeks until I did the hard reset shown above yesterday, when it updated the car’s position. It stopped working again today. It’s utterly useless, just like the non-existent over the air updates. BMW should hang their heads in shame at this nonsense

Can I ask how you did the hard reset, I'm having similar issues - is it the holding down of the volume button or is there another way?

I just held the volume knob in until the drive went blank and restarted. Then I went into Apps>options>service update to force a reconnect and it worked just fine ever since.

Might have the path slightly wrong there but it is definitely under Apps not settings

Yes, that's what I've done, however, it's been a little inconsistent since I've done it.

Went out today doing bits n bobs.... left the Mrs in the car so I didn’t have to turn it off at each location. Nearly 2 hours ‘searching for an update’ only to get home and still searching!? Utter crap and pointless.

Really starting to sound like a flawed gimmick as opposed to anything remotely useful.

For the very first time since I got my 320d in February, I was able to install the update yesterday. It was a reasonably painless process, but after the install there were a few niggles that needed ironing out.

It pretty much resets a number of features.

What I discovered was:

1. My avatar had gone, but could be re-set.
2. Automatic Hill hold was disabled and needed resetting.
3. I couldn't get comfort access to work for love nor money. In the end, I removed and reinstalled the battery from my key. I then unchecked every box on iDrive relating to locking the car / comfort access. I then left the car for 10 minutes and re-checked every box re locking or comfort access and things have gone back to normal.
4. According to my Connected app, the car is currently parked in the North Sea, which is an improvement, since before the update, it was apparently in Siberia.
5. I have managed to set my Home Navigation position. That is a first, and time will tell whether the car remembers where I live.

I was cleaning mine today, another hour searching for upgrades, still says searching like it’s stuck.

11/2019.70 is the one I've just installed.

My car was built early March and has 03/2020.30 so I guess I should stop looking for the latest July one if others are only getting 2019 versions via OTA!!!

I also did the 11/2019.70 upgrade. Went very smoothly.

First improvement I've noticed is that the remote functions (lock/unlock/lights/ventilation) now seem to work from the connected app, both from my iPhone and watch.

In my first 4 months of ownership they've only worked a handful of times. Now appear to work every time following the update.

It shows on mine it’s added as a ‘preparation to purchase’.
Not sure how that will work exactly as I have no camera in my grill, so not sure if I’ll ever actually get a purchase option anyway.

Mines just popped up with 11/2019 update, its loaded and is sat on the screen that shows preparations complete you will be notified when the upgrade can be installed!

Not sure what it's waiting for now

I was also expecting the 07/2020 but I'm guessing that will be around Feb 2021 at this pace

did the remote software upgrade to 11/2019/70 at the weekend. Lost all the coding options I had added to the car with my Bimmercode app over the last 3 months!

Spent 2 hours reinstalling all of these, which fortunately I had listed.

Noticed an issue with the sports rev counter in my heads up display not lowering when the option is ticked in I drive. Minor issue but a glitch in the software all the same.
