Talking myself into getting a 340i. Been in a Golf R for the last 2 years and before that a F20 330D for 5.

Change in commute and situation, I'm kind of itching to get out of the R. Just miss the refinement of the 3er compared to the Golf. I did say the R was a stop gap until the new 3 series.

I've been to a a few dealers and had a chat, hoping I get a test drive in one next weekend.

Can UK forummers who have or ordered one let me know what kind of incentives discounts you managed to get.

I've moved away from my old dealer so dont have the repeat customer kind of trust.

I'm being advised (by one dealer) around 8.5% and 1.5k contribution on 340i already in the system. ie a fully loaded touring, that would be the max discount I could get. Mayne a few more % nearer the finishing line.

So a configured 340 would be less. Due to timings for year end, factory lead times then the new 20 plate in March.

Is he trying to get more out of me or is that near enough what the going discounts are? 8.5% and a few k contribution on a build thats in the system or should I expect that on a configured spec?

Not pre reg, but already in the system to be built for dealer showroom etc. Was a fully loaded Dravit grey with Fiona red. Was told if I went for it could be in it for mid December at those discounts to make the end year numbers etc.

I'm very nearly ready to pull the trigger on an M340i Touring. I've seen that TRL is doing some decent deals, are these likely to be the best? I don't think many used ones will come up over the next 6 months!
I've never bought a new car, usually around 18 months to 2 years old.
The M340i looks an amazing car so it could well be my first and last new car!

Fingers crossed that a stronger pound will partly help with prices on the M340i. Let's see what January brings.

There are currently pre-reg G20 330d's on the BMW AUC website at discounts of circa 27%; obviously not a G21 M340i but a desirable model nevertheless and suggests decent discounts on the M340i will be available in 2020. TRL's deals are almost always competitive but personally I won't be tempted until discounts start with a 2....
