My software is already at 11.2019.something. Car, iDrive and Connected Drive not working as it should (laggy apps, CD not updating on phone app, comfort access not always working etc) Connected drive genius have tried remote fixes but have told me it's an issue with the car and I need to go to a dealer. I'm preparing myself for an argument with the dealer - can I ask why they didn't update it to 03.2020 and if you had to wait all day?

Dealership picked up the car on Thursday morning ( arranged more than a week ago). At 4pm they rang me and said software was fine i had to insist to upgrade software to latest version. I did say there is a march 2020 version They kept my car overnight and when the car was delivered it has 11/2019. I am hoping update will be automatic. My connectionDrive app is still saying software 3/2019 ready to upload; i have tried to delete and reinstall app, but no change... I have read software upgrade should take 20 mins. If I have to book again for software i would just wait on site. I did feel they were suggesting that they were doing a favour , upgrading from server. |

Update to my post on the loss of Spotify on my Connected Package Professional. My M340i was with the local dealership today for a software update to try and resolve the issue. Although the software was updated to 03 2020 unfortunately this has not resolved the issue and the BMW technician could not get the apps to load. This has now been escalated with BMW UK to identify the root cause and provide a working solution. I also shared the frustration of a number of users on this forum that there is a significant performance issue with the BMW Connected Drive platform and does not achieve anywhere near the level of customer satisfaction that such a premium vehicle user interface demands. I would encourage other forum members to push this issue with their local BMW dealer. More to come !

My basic opinion , is that 11/19 , is just one below the new version. I am ok with this. I will check with call centre ConnectedDrive if updates will be automatic. I will need to push call centre for a clear answer.

I agree 11/19 does seem to be as stable as you will get it. The 03/20 sounds a nightmare.

Got all my apps and Spotify back. Another thread said do a full factory reset. I assumed this was the same as the I drive reset, it isn’t. There is a separate process in the idrive itself.
Odd that the BMW techs weren’t aware of this. |

You might need to go back into settings and check the box again (if you haven’t already)
I assume you logged back into your account because Spotify didn’t appear until I’d done that |

Well I had my 340i back at Sytner today for them to try and fix the lack of ConnectedDrive.
Sad to report they spent all day on it and couldn’t fix it. They’ve had to call the factory to get support and are waiting to hear back. Interestingly, another customer went in, had his software updated and now his car has the same issue as mine. Seems like the latest iDrive build has its fair share of bugs!! |
