And it comes with usable back seats.

Or splurge and get a Cayman GT4.

Or save $30K and buy a used, low mileage C7 Grand Sport with 3LT and Z07 AND 7 speed manual.
This is what I plan to do. Just got to buy our next and last house first so the wife is happy. But she knows that once that is done, I plan to upgrade my current C6.

I second the M2 Comp. Sure the C8 may be about 2 seconds faster on the track, but the M2 will be 2 seconds better as a car - everything considered. I still maintain that if you're a BMW guy, you probably won't like the C8 just like you probably went with BMW with previous Corvette. If you read between the lines of all the reviews so far, the C8 albeit with the engine in the middle, still a Vette, through and through.

Better only in the sense of having half a backseat, Motortrend says that the vette has amazing ride quality, lack of NVH and a better interior than the 2020 911.

I'd take an Aveo interior over a 996 interior. I'd hardly say that Porsche makes good interiors. They've had a little recent help from Audi, but no Porsche has a truly great interior. Even with all the waxed leather you can option.

Have you ever sat in a 911? I have, several. They are bland AF. From what I can see of the C8, I'd agree it's nicer inside.

Two seconds faster? The C8 is already showing it’s going to be a stellar performer. On the one track both cars have run the C8 trounces the M2C by over four seconds, on a pretty short and that’s a wide margin. Corvette thumps the M2C in every measurable performance contest. 0-60, 1/4 mile is an embarrassment for the M2C. C8 is only a 1/2 sec behind the McLaren 600LT the M2C on the other hand is way back in the rear views of both cars.

‘The M2 will be better ‘as a car-everything considered’.
There you go with your favorite arguing point, your personal feelings. Feelings don’t mean squat except to the person feeling it.
I’m a BMW guy and a Corvette guy and I have both. I like BMW and Corvettes and there others on this forum who do as well and many thousands out there that do the same, imagine that. You better sit down for this one, there even more than a few BMW guys right here who say they’re likely getting a C8.

We really don’t have to read between the lines of the reviews to see that it’s still a Corvette at heart with Corvette DNA, why? because it is a Corvette, Holy Cow imagine that. I can’t imagine how you can even come up with such a silly talking point! We want our generations to be tied to their history and be an evolution of the breed, I guess you’d like to see Corvette turn into a completely different car so you can ‘feel’ it.

Know this is shocking to you but lots of car people like Corvettes, buy them and enjoy them, on the track and street. The C8 era is just getting started and so far it’s a great start.

The Vette has magnetic suspension, so ride quality will be a technological generation better than the BMW.

I love my m4, but at the end of the day it's a compromised sports car... that's why I bought it. I had a wife and a kid and I needed something with a back seat so I could sell the idea of owning a sports car to the wife at the time. Well, now I'm minus a wife and have full custody of my son so I don't have to answer to anyone and only need two seats. Therefore, the BMW has got to go to make room for the purpose built speed machine I wanted all along.

Oh I’m calm, I’m just laughing at you. Maybe if I do the lols you love so much. Lols. There you go.

Yeah he said that about the C7 years ago, where have you been? It’s not news now it’s ancient history. But Good ole Randy, he’s driven them all from the C7 ZR1, C7 Z06, C7 GS, C7 Base as well as the M2C and guess what? He spanked the M2C with every single one of them. Monkey butt and all. Just look at the premier sports cars Corvette has stomped, sorry sedans don’t count, they’re grocery getters and kiddy transport. Randy even thumped a M4 GTS will a C7 GS. You keep laughing at leaf springs while they’re passing some of the best handling cars on the planet. Man are you narrow minded.

The C8’s will be considerably better, faster then the previous generations models. Just wait till R.P. Gets his hands on the official released C8 at Laguna then we’ll see how much your chuckling. How do ‘feel’ about that? I can’t wait.
You’ll probably revert back to nonsensical complaints that it doesn't hold enough luggage and nit-pick at it points on the flanks that hurt your sensibilities. You should go to your safe space. Lols lols lols

You make a very good point. Having owned more Corvettes over the past 53 years starting with the C4 series. One could pick the C8 coupe with the 1LT and Z51 and it will cost $64,995. Now at this price point it is right there with the cost of the M2.

My 2014 Z51 C7 with the 3LT package had a MSRP of 78K. My 2012 C6 Z06 / Z07 had a MSRP around 104K but I was able to get for 25k off MSRP. I still miss that car. Almost bought a low mileage one for 51k several months ago. I am on the hunt for a 1970 / 1971 Cuda with a 340ci or 440ci. But I need to purchase our retirement house first. So depending what is important as far as options one could pick up a new C8 in the 60k range.

I like all cars and motorcycles and I am not brand specific. Before buying my F90 M5 I thought a new Porsche 911 S /GTS was in the cards when I was transitioning from my M3 (F80). The cost of the car (911) played into my decision and after the options I wanted the cost was hovering around 140 - 155k. In addition the wife of 33 years looked at me and said, " You are crazy if you think I am driving to Las Vegas in this car".

I have never been one to wrap my self around lap times. I never track my personal cars. I am a EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) Instructor at work, so I get to have some fun on the track during pursuit training having the students chase me around the track while I play the part of the suspect.
