It used to be when they switched model year over so end Sept build cars were next years build. I'm not sure if they still do that. I delayed my F10 some years ago for that reason as I knew what they did. Had a com box added FOC so it gave voice control through the back door. When the car has been to body shop it will been through BIW (body in white). So they maybe counting that too. The build slots are managed so that there is some slack in switch over to export centre. As the car has to prepped to travel. I suspect Euro cars are separated for customs paperwork. I suspect UK cars maybe lumped with non EU cars after 31st Oct. Thanks to my line of work I've seen the MINI plant in the UK. Some Japanese manufacturers fit items when it lands in the target country. I know Mitsi fit leather seats in dock. As they can avoid extra duty and save money on standardising production back in Japan.

Good morning, I have been a long time lurker, thought it was about time to say hello. Last week I ordered a 330e m sport in Portimao blue with HK added, our lease deals don’t really allow for options without it getting silly money. Really looking forward to getting the car and feeding back on the group. Have a great day all.

Me too - just joined up to the group after being a Mercedes Benz man (and Alfa Romeo before that).
My 330e M Sport in Mineral Grey is being ordered this week - to say I'm excited is an understatement - looks and reads the biz! Not looking forward to the wait though... so impatient! |

Mine is due to be built this week; I've just check the status and it's currently:
"Your new car will be progressing into production imminently. A chassis number has been allocated and your car is starting to take shape with all your chosen features and finishes." It's been like that for over a week but I suppose if the plant's been shutdown then that suggests it's one of the next in line. At some point I assume I'll start getting the official BMW status emails. |

My car already arrived and is at the dealer, looks like the information given to me last week was a mistake. I will go see it today, but the pick up is pending because of a recall, something related with the middle rear headrest, until it is fixed bmw wont release the car.

Hi, not had one yet. The lease company are still processing things, when I last spoke to them they quoted 16 weeks from order placement. Not sure if that was a reliable figure though.

Here it is, if everything goes well, I will pick it up thursday. The engine sounds like a diesel, at least on idle, I revved it a little and it is very silent

Just had an update from Arval, delivery has slipped back to 11th October due to factory shutdown. BMW Genius however still seem to think it was starting production this week, which hasn't changed. Confused.com...!?

Interesting, my 330e is still being built but BMW Connected has accepted it's VIN. Although I can't complete the whole adoption process as I need the code from the dash.

A bit of a convoluted route to get it but I guess if a private buyer it is easier |
