Lack of real life views disturbing...

So - does no one find it a little strange that apart from the official launch reviews in Germany (and one dude at a motor dealer who clearly is destined for another profession!) that there are no real world tests of the 330e in the UK - either in video or article format?

Do we think someone is trying to hide something?

It's all a bit odd to me - especially given the potential impact this vehicle will have on BMW's sales, the PHEV market in the UK and the fleet market?

Can't get my head around why CarWow, Auto Express, TG etc don't have any road tests, short/long term or otherwise.

I am suspicious!

They all come out at once, simply there aren't any cars provided to the motoring press. When they do it will coincide with offer support. I posted the dodgy UK review as it was so rare...well that was the intention, instead most seemed to think it was me or I though it was a great reviewer....nope!

Managed 37,2 MPG WTF? Not a lot of battery use going there then, I hate skewed reviews like this, hmm.

Seems they used it in a mixed cycle of motoring trips , not just short hops which show hybrids to advantage . Makes my 320 petrol look quite good at 40.6

Well, your 320 doesn't have 250/290 bhp

Didn’t check the date - sorry mate. Just noticed WhatCar had tweeted it out this afternoon. They must’ve updated the article or something.

I don't use all the horses i have got. Not being a teararss merchant that's how I get 40.6 and I am not lugging around 4 Cwt of excess weight.

Not the most popular model as eco friendly 3 series isn't at the top of anyone's list. More folks would just go with a model 3 instead.

It's a slight update on their old review. Need to get them to run a long term test. Agree that they must be pretty heavy on the accelerator to get those MPG figures.

No worries, I don’t get mine till December so I’m looking for reviews with a frequency I wouldn’t want the missus to know about.

it doesn't matter, to be fair, if you use all horses or not.
you got them and you have to feed them that's why

as an example, 330e has more or less same bhp as 330i and much, much better fuel consumption :P

It’s a personal choice as to size of engine and fuel. For long faster journeys (70mph+) the 330e would not have the same power as as a 330i. The 330i would not get the MPG of a diesel. Horses for courses.

Regardless they are all great cars...

Let’s compare Model 3 and 330e sales in 12 months time then 🤣
BMW predicting 25% of all 3 series sales will be the 330e.

It might be different in the U.K. Here in the states it wasn't the most popular model of the 3 series which isn't seen as an economy car.

well, yes. By default, 330e has 5 bhp less than 330i
but 330e has xtraboost which lifts bhp to 292.

go figure.
