M340i Wheel Debate

I've had consecutive MSport 335i/340i leases and in the final year of the current 340i. Definitely looking at M340i as my next ride. I'm struggling with wheel selection and hoping others who debated this can offer some thoughts and opinions. My initial plan was to go with the 792: M Double Spoke Cerium Gray, but these are very similar to the wheels on my 2 F30s so thinking maybe 'change it up' and go with 791: M Double Spoke Jet Black. I'm likely going with TBII over Mocha if that factors in.

I love my 792Ms. They hide brake dust fairly well. Coming from an 07 e90 with the wheel pictured below it does take more time to clean properly with the crevices and design but nothing horrible. I'd do it again if given the chance.

+1 for these wheels. Have the same ones, and I think they're my favorite I've ever had on my BMW (I've had 3 others prior, all M-Sport)

Personally I really dislike black wheels. It looks like you have a black hole at each corner and reminds me of an unmarked police cruiser. So, my choice would be the 792s.

+1 I hate black wheels with a passion. I can't understand why BMW and Porsche think black wheels look good.

I went with 790Ms with all season NON-runflats.

Yes, the 19s look better but I went for functionality / comfort vs the looks.

This will be my daily driver and I did not want to worry about damaged rims and busted out tires.

Plus, I think the 790s look pretty good and not that many folks have them.

I was noticing that exact same thing. Because of the color of the wheel. You really can't see the break dust

THIS. A dealer has one on the lot that has all the options I want, but also has black wheels. If he cant swap them out for the bicolor ones than its a no go. Black wheels look ghetto and do nothing to accentuate the car. The black front grill and black rear lip spoiler look awesome; but must have the bi color wheels. Looks more professional too.

I went with the orbit 18's I live in NJ and the roads and potholes are horrific. I had an option for a car with same 19's but something pulled me towards the orbits. Slight reminder of the e46 m3 style wheels. At first I wasn't very excited over them, but after I got the 20% tints with the black sapphire metallic... it grew on me so much more. Especially with the bronze mirrors and grille, made me like the car so much more, the tints made not only the car look better but made the wheels and the bronze trim look sick.. imo

In my opinion, 792M wheels add more of a distinct design which compliments the accents of the Cerium grey the front grill, Mirror caps and front trim insert. Identifying to onlookers you have an M-Performance model m340i, more unique and pronounced.

However the jet black 791M rims would also compliment the vehicle with the black kidney grill, black side trim insert, black mirror caps, and with shadowline trim. More stealthier-sportier look. One observation is even if anyone has black or aftermarket gloss rims, it hides the design and pattern of the rim.

I have the 330 Xdrive, but if I had the m340, I would still go with the same setup 791M Bicolour option.
My opinion again is that the bi-colour 791M rims would also compliment the vehicle with the black kidney grill, black side trim insert, black mirror caps, and shadowline trim. Less stealthier look, but the silver exposed bi-colour trim on the 791M wheels add differentiation and character when the car is stopped.

Yea, thanks. I've had several cars with small sidewall 19's and larger nothing but a nightmare living in jersey. You should know haha .. I think the orbit 18's make it more sleeper too
