OTA update
Got into the car this morning and head a notification that I've actually got an OTA update waiting. Wonders will never cease. I'm still running 03/19 and the update is 07/2019.75 which isn't the latest one, but beggars can't be choosers.
I'll be interested to see if it actually works |

Haven't had an update since I got my 330i in August.

I haven't had any update for my 330e since I got it. Still on 07/2019.40......... No sign of any OTA updates, and I really don't see why we should haul our cars to the dealers every time. 🙄

Same here, 330e, 07.2019. Reluctant to book it in as I have no issues (app works well) only problem I've had are 1) the car showed as an x3 on startup once, and the idrive and cockpit went black and rebooted while driving once, they were both ages ago when car was like a week or two old, quite happy to wait until it gets a service, hopefully software will be far less buggy then.... possibly 🤣

Also, did you notice when doing the upgrade you can hear the hard drive in the car clicking away..can't believe these cars have HDD's rather than SSD's. Moving parts in a moving car.. asking for trouble BMW haha. |

Spotify better be there somewhere. It clearly states it adds it. After years of driving Audis, I don't think I'll be getting another BMW after this one. Their software and customer service is appalling. |

I’m confused! The rationale as to whether people get OTA updates seems really inconsistent, or our/my understanding of how it’s meant to work is inconsistent... or somewhere between the two... But I suppose having owned two BMWs for 4 years now, this is what we come to expect with software/updates.
I’m on 11.2019/30 I think, it was updated at the dealers in Nov to fix the brake fluid warning message (still fixed). Since then I’ve never had an OTA update or before it for that matter. Out of interest for those that have had them, does it come up automatically in the car, on the app, both? Even when I do the search manually in the car it doesn’t find any updates. Did you have to leave your car sat updating and did it tell you how long it would take or was it just a case or leaving it overnight and leaving it to it? Also did it just do it via the SIM card in the car, or, were you connected via WiFi via your phone? Yours confused (doesn’t take much!) |

I only noticed when I was looking at the app. Mine only downloads when the car is on and it's connected to my mobile. It's only just over 1400mb and it's taking forever to transfer to the car. Utterly hopeless. Even more frustrating is that I'm getting an update that's six months old

Thanks for that I’ll try plugging it in and seeing if there’s any difference. I must admit I hardly ever look at the connected app when it’s plugged in, in the car. |

You can download the update onto the app while in the house. For it to transfer to the I drive, you have to be in the car with your phone. If you log in and go to ‘Info’ and scroll down to ‘remote software update’, it’ll tell you if there’s one available.
I just can get over how long it’s taking. Now on my third day and hours of driving and it’s still only at 75%. BMW need to get a grip of their software engineers. |

Still haven't completed the download to the car yet. Another hour driving today and it still hasn't completed the transfer from the phone. No idea what's going on

Mine downloaded on my phone yesterday, reasonably quick on WiFi. Today the cars at 75%, haven’t driven much just a couple of local short runs.
Might update tomorrow at that rate, but who knows! |
