MY20 and MY20.25

Hi all. I just got 2 lease quotes today. Both for 330e M Sport.
One however listed it as MY20 and the second listed as MY20.25. Is anybody aware of any changes between 20 and 20.25? And surely any order placed now would be the same?

The quotes with the same options were identical prices.

I heard from my dealer that something changes in week 10 possibly, I’ve not ordered yet so will ask when ordering.
There is a price increase on 3 series from 1st April!

So anything built from week 10 will have the change? Or ordered after week 10.
I heard there was a price rise imminent, so trying to get my order placed asap.

I am not sure why, but, there is some complication over the price rise. I would welcome any clarity on this, but, as I understand it, there is some complication that means cars being quoted today by dealers already have the price rise.
Not sure what, or why.
Also, cars registered after 1st April will incur additional VED according to my dealer.
Finally, I am not 100% but they do not normally move to a 20.25 or 20.5 unless they have changes. Once again, not sure.

The 20.25 will coincide with the introduction of the mild hybrid system of the 320d and the 318i petrol going from the 3 cylinder engine to 2.0 4 cylinder engine.

I ordered last week (in Ireland) and dealer told me any changes to the spec would trigger the price rise which he said was €950.

I have been told that unless you can find a car in build that can be delivered before the end of March, then you will pay the new pricing. On my spec that means £1090 increase including changes to VED. Changes will be in cars built from week 10.

That’s quite a lot. What about those ordered in 2019 but not due to be built til after April due to BMW long lead in times?

The 318i on the G20 isn't "going" from anything. It's a new model for the G20. You're right that it's a 156hp 4-cylinder, however. The F30 318i was a 3-cylinder, and it's that what you're thinking of.

You still have to pay the price rise or cancel the order. This is all in the small print of the contract. It explains that the final price may rise. This is normal.

All the details of the updates were published on the BMW press site on 16th January.

Where can you see the predicted price rises? are they showing on the online configuration tool yet?

Do you know what the new base price for 330e MSport is?

Saleshark What Spec and changes make up that £1090?

Judging from the debate on this thread there is clearly much confusion out there.
I have been buying new BMW's for nearly 30 years and I have never been asked for more money after I have placed an order and been given a quote. So, this is strange.
Regarding the VED increases, I kind of get that. There is a new VED chart that comes into force after 1st April, so, put simply, if your car jumps some groups in the new table and then is registered after 1st April, your VED will be higher. Once again, this is unusual as the VED amount is included in the "on the road costs", which is stated in the quote.
When you look at the new VED tables, they are bloody confusing!!!!

I’m not sure of the individual price changes, car is 330i with tech/plus packs, parking assistant professional and some small bits.

I was told that price rise was effective from a date in January for orders that would be delivered after 1st April, unless you can find a dealer with a build slot that would mean delivery before April.

I have a quote based on delivery after the 1st April at the moment. The price won’t change unless there is a car in build that unallocated, then the price would be less.

That makes sense Saleshark. I do wonder though if the online configurator has the correct prices in it as I sent my chosen config to my dealer and his price that he then sent me was based on the higher "on the road" costs making the base price of the car higher than on my online config. Interesting stuff.......

Regarding the VED changes, here is a cut and paste from my quote. You can see that there is a CO2 change after the 1st April as the methodology for the testing standard changes. The net effect of this is that the car CO2 jumps and hence puts it into a different line of the VED table. Hope that makes sense.

BMW G21 M340i xDrive Touring B58D 3.0i
CO2 (NEDCcorr) 165 g/km (Registered before April 2020)
CO2 (WLTP) 192 g/km (Registered from April 2020)

Configurator hasn’t been updated, presume because technically price increase is from 1st April.

What was the delta between the online config and the dealer quote?
