Watching people complain about the look of this car is kind of funny to me given the atrocities that have been coming out of other manufacturers. I mean, at least BMW didn't go and make something ugly as all hell. Just look at the 2019 Camaro refresh

Partly - the idea that every BMW consumer is on this forum is a vast mistake. The average BMW Customer is NOTHING like the forums members...and it's noticeable when visiting the dealership. They don't care about 0-60 speed - they care about the bells and whistles...if they didn't, they would be an Accord. As for the other comments - the F30 was just never a car that made me smile. I always thought it looked terrible, drove bloated and felt totally disconnected. The E90 chassis nailed it and perhaps it was partly due to the engine - but the whole car fit together. The interior fit for that time, the seats, doors, hoodline, steering wheel, etc... I sadly feel based on everything we've seen - this G20 will follow the same death the F30 did. |

Still don't like the headlights that are touching the grille. Rear has something Lexusy about it.

Based on the majority of the comments posted here, it's so hard to please us.
When BMW posted pictures of the new 5 series last year, it's criticized for not taking chances, for being conservative and boring. It's actually a lot better in person and quite distinct from the previous gen. Now when BMW is taking chances with their design language, it's accused of tampering too much with its trademark looks and straying too far from what a BMW should look like. That being said, I do agree and recognized some design elements from Mercedes (rear bumper with the exhaust) and Lexus (tail lights) but I'm fine with it. There are so many models out there that it's practically impossible not to have visual similarities with certain parts from the competition. I know this is only a render but I really like it. Don't be drama queens. You know this is the only car BMW can't fail with. The true design will be very cool, the F30 is still better than the new A4 and MB C.
So stop crying to a render. |

a great looking vehicle. the line that runs down the side and across the fuel filler reminds me of the e9x. the front end is tightened up and fairly aggressive. my only complaint is the the rear tail lights look like a lexus...i like the current 4 series rear lights better.

Good grief!?
What's with Active Denial System "Pain Ray" under the front bumper? That was the best they could do? Oh wait - is that a horizontal missile launch tube? |

It's no wonder BMWs prior to 2007 keep rising in value, at least the M's. The design is getting worse and far too large for my taste.
